Couldn't sleep last night so I made these. My brother-in-law started hospice care and won't be around too much longer so I made them for him and his family. Made from purpleheart and osage orange wood.

Geez man is there anything you can't do!?! Those look amazing! Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law.

Replaced the rear door latch on ol' Pirate ship.. no more struggling to open the door!

Time to replace the OEM bushings and ball joints on the front lower control arm in the 4runner. I went with Super Pro offset bushings for a large amount of camber and caster addition, and 555 LBJs.

I learned something interesting about these bushings, and that is that the actual bushings don't twist as the LCAs rotate up and down since the inner sleeve isn't bonded to the poly. This means that the polyurethane material will not get ripped or torn because the metal sleeves are what the arms are rotating on. But get this, the bushings are not rotating around the metal sleeves either. The metal sleeves are rotating around the bolts instead. It's a pretty nice setup. What this means is that the metal sleeves will not wear out the ID of the polyurethane bushings.

They have a decent feedback after a year or two of in service from other 4th gen owners.

Didn't get done in time to make it to the meeting. Just found the second one after 20 minutes of searching. The rag wheel grabbed it when I was polishing it and flung it across the garage. I'll make some boxes laterView attachment 3818482
Beautiful! Well done

This is what heppens when I’m left unattended

I'm sitting in the Firestone shop to get the alignment done after replacing both LCAs filled with sexy new bushings and LBJs.

Pass side took five hours and the driver side 2.5 hours and that includes roughly setting up the camber, caster and toe adjustments. This was a four Advil project. Also took the opportunity to remove the cloud start assembly and replace the top hat which includes the rubber isolator. I'm disappointed that the KYB rubber insulator was breaking down only after 5 years of service, I think.

While I was in there, also replaced the rack and pinion bellows since one of them was torn off. The rebuilder who rebuilt my rack used non OEM rubber bellows.

I wasn't a bit nervous driving to the Firestone from the East mountain so I took route 66 all the way 😁. Nothing fell off, and the vehicle tracked pretty straight with the steering wheel a little bit off center, which was to be expected.

Just some random pics, check out the alignment hardware from Super pro. They are really beefy and seemingly made of decent quality but who knows!

New battery and replaced the voltage regulator. I was chasing electrical gremlins with large voltage spikes from cold seemingly while the alternator was recharging. Dropped those tiny screws maybe 10 times. The voltage indicator still wiggles but now doesn't have any alarming spikes.

Is the regulator still available for the 60's? I thought it was disco'd.

I bought a toyota reman off of cruiserteq and not new from AmToy. I have the internal voltage regulator and not an external one; I have no idea if those are still available.

edit: posted twice for some reason
