One of Isabelle's roommate, Brianna ran over a rock while delivering for instacart up here in the East mountains. Her Mercedes swiftly ran out of oil, turned on all the warning lights and came to a screeching halt in the middle of the road. I think the engine has so much brain power that it protected itself by shutting off everything and sounding off all kinds of bills and whistles!

As soon as I came on to the scene, I assessed that her engine has no oil as evidenced by a long streak with a nice giant puddle under the car! Brianna learned how to unlatch the hood, and find the engine oil dipstick, then learn how to check the oil level.

We rolled the car out of harm's way then waited for Isabelle to show up then Isabelle called AAA.

Brianna figured out is where the owners manual is 😁. Next, I had her look up is where they keep the eye bolt tow hook thing, which she found. Then she found the hole on her bumpers to screw the thing into. As I was looking at this eyebolt thing, I noticed it is twice the diameter of the one I have in the back of my spares kit so seems that the German cars have yet another size eyebolt hook then the Japanese cars ☹️.

Everyone in that household is a broke college kid, so I think JB weld repair might be in order if the hole isn't huge. Unfortunately, they don't have anything in that garage to lift that car high enough to be able to crawl under it 😂

Broke college student driving a Mercedes? Poor kid!
I had the same thought. It was also a nice MB, unlike the MB Isabelle is driving while her 4R is under the knife.

No kidding, right? Her parents bought that on her behalf even though she can't afford to keep it or insure it. She's looking for a beater truck right now.

i'll tell Isabelle you said that.

That's a damn nice car for a broke college kid. When I was a broke college kid I drove a 20 year old Datsun 620 pickup that was 4 different colors, no AC, no power steering, 4 spd manual, manual windows, manual locks and home made interior door panels.

Bummer!
If its any consolation, I'm that moron on a regular basis
Thankfully it's just the lower control arm that I broke, and did not rip the bottom of the block off from the oil filter housing. I should have it back on the road by Monday.

This incident actually caused me to get my Celica up and running with a brand new oil pan and engine mounts. As long as it gets done, I guess.

Just received this bumper from a fellow mud member out of Idaho/Colorado @WoodyCreature84. My brother in law drove down from Seattle and snagged it in Boise @Delta VS. Very happy with the fit.

That looks really nice. Good work. I've always liked the square lines on the Landcruiser/ARB-style front bumpers as compared to the more angular ones you see on most 4runners.

I go back and forth on Ironman vs ARB. Ultimately I have 2 Ironman bumpers because they come with turn signals and fog lights. Oh and they come with the winch mount plate. I believe the winch mount plate is extra from ARB. ARB doesn’t include the extra bits and charges more. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I concur 100%. The ARB bumper on a 4th gen 4runner doesn't quite do it for me, but on a 3rd gen 4Runner does it for me. It's all about the lines, doncha know!!

Ain't they purdy? The heads came back from Empire engine rebuilder and I also had them vat clean the lower intake manifold.

Purty. Did they also do the valve adjustments?

Tell that girl "chop-chop." Let's get 'er done.

They did replace couple of the shims to tighten up the exhaust valves on one of the head. They shaved very little off the heads.
