What did you do with your truck today?

Nice sir. I especially like the switch plate mod. I'm going to have to put that one back for use another day.

What size tank did you go with?

Thanks Jynx, I needed a box and that was handy. The tank is a 2.5 gallon.

Nice! that junction box is awesome! 2 things, are you running any couplers outside or just in the hatch, and what do you think you'll use as air hose?

Thank you. I think for now the only coupler will be the one in the back, I may at some point add another towards the front.
I got an ARB inflation kit that came with a hose, if I find it gets really stiff in the cold I will just pick up a length of standard rubber air hose.

Been busy with a cutoff wheel. Getting ready to make a couple changes.

@jason in tn

You are in mega GSMTR mode! Always cool to watch as the event gets closer, people ramp up the truck readiness projects. I'm headed to @DSLTOY shop in late April for a rear track bar install on the 40....

@Tennessee80 aint that the truth, I always seem to wait until the last minute to get stuff started, let alone done

@Monty231 that is some good work, dude! I'm bringing my 40 again this year, gonna be great. Wish I had a front locker, but Mello did pretty well last year with just the rear locker!

Cheers

Thanks Joel, I hope I can get a day or two off so I can make GSMTR this year. Setting up gears is a new skill for me, but after I got into it the process made sense. Just a lot of trial and error. Hopefully, it will all hold together.

Got the rear locker and disc brakes installed. Now I'll probably get stuck working all GSMTR.

Clean, man! That looks freaking awesome

What disc brake setup is that?

Seems silly, and I took no photos, but what a difference a moving seat makes! Pulled the driver's seat on the 80 and replaced the plastic gear. No longer do my knees hit the steering wheel.

What disc brake setup is that?

Joel, I bought the caliper brackets and discs from Poser. The calipers are 80's Monte Carlo. Basically, I just followed everyone else's lead from the FAQs in the 40 section. I haven't driven it too far with the new setup, but I can tell a big difference. My biggest issue was flaring the brake lines. I would highly recommend a hydraulic flaring tool, and if anyone has access to one I'd like to borrow it, there are a couple flares I'd like to redo.

I also have 4 wheel disc brakes on my 40, and it does stop pretty damn well. When I bought the truck, the PO told me it was monte carlo calipers, so it must be a common setup. Yours just look so damn shiny, LOL

Willwood Calipers are Monte Carlo I think. I did Mini Truck on the front of mine. My favorite mod. Saginaw steering was my second favorite.

Yeah man, I love the Saginaw on my rig, can turn in a parking lot with 1 finger on the wheel...!

Tore apart the FJC, now I have two rigs in pieces and nothing ready for GSMTR.

Fairly standard 80 series PM: valve cover gasket, throttle body cleaning and fuel filter. Would have liked to see a little less varnish, but not the end of world. The PCV valve and grommet sucked. Thanks @beno for the parts!

Kinda kicking myself for not doing this 2 years ago when I got the truck.
