Built a storage box for the back of my truck. Still need to add the struts and thinking about whether or not I want carpet on it. Overall, pleased with it and now I can put all the loose items in the back out of site.

Finally got around to adjust the emergency brake. The travel on that handle was too much for me. I took the Texasknowhow approach with a flathead to each drum. Worked beautifully. My 10 year old son assisted me, so (maybe, hopefully) learned a couple of things today, like using wheel chucks while the tranny is in N so you can spin the rear drum. And how important is to actually wear gloves instead of having them right next to you or inside the garage somewhere.

I drove my 93 to my son's baseball games about an hour out of town. (For you California people this is approximately 65 miles not 3 blocks.) Earlier in the day a parent was giving me crap about my medical kit being "overkill". Well, a kid took a fast ball to the face. Knocked out two teeth and split his lip down to his chin (about 1.5"). Needless to say having 6 instant ice packs, rolls of gauze, multiple pairs of sterile latex free gloves, and an EMT Tooth Saver didn't seem like "overkill" then.

The JB Weld didn't hold my rear door speaker upgrade like I had hoped. (Done 2.5 years ago)
Added some aluminum tabs with some self tapping screws. Done.

I just did this with silicon RTV.. hoping that it being more pliable allows it to deal with the vibration better. and I literally JUST put the door back together so don't want to rip it apart for tabs. We'll see.

I was just about to say: "why didn't you just walk there?" but then I read the rest of it.

Part of my problem was passengers and kids who didn't understand that the door didn't have to be slammed to be closed properly. I guess over time... Blam. One slam too many. The grill and speaker popped out.
I just removed the grill and the altered OE plastic mounting bracket, screwed in the tabs and re-installed the mounting bracket and grill.
If you mounted the speakers differently I can see how it would be a pain to take the door apart again. Hope the RVT holds for you.

Been neglecting my fjc lately so today I gave her a tune up, clean the hell out of the engine, I pulled about 25 random bolts and brackets that were rusting in the engine bay and ran them thru the bench grinder and a fresh coat of paint. My cruiser was jealous, I could tell

Finished this....

Allen bolts instead of studs for the cone washers? I'd have to assume this isn't as strong as designed? is this common?

Grade 8, no issues, you can use grade 8 bolts also.

Was windy when driving today and noticed my hood was shaking. Pulled over to make sure it was latched and it was. Why is it doing this? It is "lifting" up a solid 1/2" or so.

Ya know, the vast majority of California is farmland, ranches and forests. The LA area, Bay area and Sacramento area make up only a small portion of the state.

Well it was short, but for my first internet rant, it felt pretty good.

I'm not really sure what this video has to do with "hood shakiness"?

Took our easter trip to the caribbean coast, a small town called rio cedro. If any of you ever show up around here and want a remote camping spot, i got it!... finally was able to buy a small lot 300 ft from the beach, a dream come true.
currently planning on doing another trip on rainy season to plant some trees and build a small hut.
