Road trip

Went camping and fishing with my son. Played hooky from school on Friday to beat the crowd. Sleep platform worked beautifully.

Put together a little paracord contraption to hold fishing rods so they aren't bouncing around. Worked perfectly. Out of the way for sleeping. Can be pulled down in 30 secs. And didn't cost a thing.

And caught a few fish...

Bought these.....

To replace my Husky versions....

The Husky versions aren't bad, I just prefer the Weather Tech ones better.

I'm willing to sell the Husky ones to a mud member at a really good price plus the cost of the trip if anyone is interested.
I'd certainly clean them up a little first. They are gray in color in case you can't completely tell from the photo.

Oil change. And installed my steering damper. Still waiting on the fox 2.0 in order to do the 2" lift that was discussed a couple of weeks ago

The parts fairy showed up with the last bits for my EGR and Smog delete. So I'll be doing that tomorrow!

Out of curiosity, why did you get grey and not tan?

I would get a dark color too, so the dirt won't show on the tan ones like it does right now.

That makes sense. I have brown (like chocolate) carpet in my 92 so neither will match. :(

Pressed on with my engine bay madness! Installed the head with OEM gaskets and ARP studs. The studs tourque down very smooth to 80ft/lbs. I decided to install a new engine wire harness because mine was baked and otherwise beat up. Routing the new harness is a PIA. I am very particular about these things because I work on commercial jets for a living and I am used to seeing wires and hoses and such routed very securely. That EGR tube is very close so I wrapped the harness with some um - good stuff that should protect it from heat. Seeing all the above pics of you all wheeling has me going crazy to get this done!

I found the little white cap for my passenger seat on the floor a couple days ago and luckily was able to re-install before anything got stripped. Yay!

your paint likely has the darker tone due to the solvent in it - Klein used a special binder to maintain the luminosity of the pigment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Klein_Blue - he meant the color to represent the sky over Nice, France, his hometown

Museum Ludwig in Cologne has a nice collection of Yves Klein works - when I visited last year they had only one on display, though :(

Is there anything like this there? Because this looks cool....

Finished paint and reinstalled trim. All the trim was painted with Rust-o-leum Trim and Bumper paint from the Landcruiser section of Wal-Mart. It's funny, but my lovely bride was very reluctant in purchasing this Landcruiser, but the color change has her talking about expeditions in Europe and the Mediterranean. As you can see, she even finish detailed the paint around the trim.
