What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Did you get any lift with the 861/862 springs? Any pics you can share? Thanks
I put 861/862s on my 96 with Toyota shocks. Didn’t measure because I wasn’t looking for lift. Not sure if the pics tell the story but in person it seems to have a bit of a lift over the likely original springs. I think OME claims 0.5 in front to 0.75” in rear. The photo in the garage is before the spring install.

Shiny!

Looks good. What is that cylinder that your compressor is going into?
Thanks, it's a small manifold air tank that ARB uses with lockers, has the locker solenoids on the bottom. If you are just using the compressor for air ups, you don't need it.

Just picked up my first 80 this week so mostly just played with it and looked for excuses to drive somewhere/anywhere. I've been wanting an 80 for about 10 years but I just couldn't make it work. Finally things worked out and I finally have one. It runs great and has been refreshed mechanically so I am mostly working on cosmetic and nagging stuff. Ordered up a One Stone armrest and Some solvefunction goodies for it. Lots of little things to work on but it doesn't leak at least I won't get in trouble if I leave it parked in the driveway.

First thing was that it actually fit in the garage and I was not expecting that with 315s, the lift and rook rack.

PO gave me a ton of parts so I swapped out the window molding that was looking pretty bad. Before:

where did you source the trim from?

PO gave it to me with the truck. I saved the part numbers though.

MOULDING ASSY FR 75710-60021
MOULDING ASSY FR 75720-60021
MOULDING ASSY RR 75730-60020
MOULDING ASSY RR 75740-60020

I googled the part numbers and there are sites claiming to have them still.

Looks like the sliding window moulding is NLA. I need those too.

Picked up this pig while my 80 gets a good overhaul, had to replace the alternator day one. Just took it to DEQ and got plates. Doing a tune up coil packs, plugs, air filter and oil change. Might keep it around or sell not sure yet.

Which springs did you go with? I am thinking of replacing my OME shocks and springs with King shocks and Dobinsons springs. I want something a little longer as I am going to do a 3 link in the front but retaining the factory shock and spring location.

Got some more, new calipers(will paint these) stainless lines, pads, rotors and drive flanges. Still deciding on new birfields was not planning on doing axle rebuild as it was done 15k miles ago.

Rites of spring...

Scangauge. Mounted under the hvac controls using Velcro conveniently left behind by the PO. Used a OBDII splitter to maintain a separate port under the hood and gas latches. Will probably mount the spare port with Velcro at some point to get rid of the zip ties. Flipping the OBDII port allows the fuse box cover to close perfectly. I love my parents but the internet and MUD taught me everything I know…
