Discovered toasted wheel bearings on Tertiary '80 and deadlined it for a bit. :( Dealt with some long deferred maintenance issues on Primary '80 (reinstalled F&R swaybars and some new Rancho 9000s on the back end). Swapped some 305s under Secondary '80 and checked her over right before picking dad and brother up at the airport and having brother drive off road for the first time ever. About 100 miles trailhead to trailhead and and I think he wants an '80 now. ;)

It's about 40 miles of moderate trail to get there, but this semi-secret canyon will see you catching Grayling until your arm is tired of pulling them in. This is the kinda stuff that '80s were made for. ;)

New tie rods. Alignment is tomorrow then I will remove the running boards and replace with the original front mud guards. I’ll post a pic when tomorrow with those on. Anyone know if there is a market for 80 series running boards and how much they might be worth? I also am researching a 3/4 rack for the top. I want it to start behind the sunroof. Oh, and I had it up on the rack today and all the leaks have been fixed by the last two owners so I just get to clean the underside. No rust. This is my first LC and at 58, probably my only. I’m not going back to a 4runner even though they were all great rides. Cheers

No, that's what happens when you hit whoops at 60mph on stock suspension and the swaybar disconnects itself.
Lol.

well what had happened was I hit some sidewalk whoops… then my hands and rest of my body disconnected from the bike. Just a whole lotta disconnecting…🤕

Took off the running boards and installed the original mud guards. I just rotated the tires after the alignment and new tie rods. The engine bay and underside need a major cleaning so that is next along with plastic dipping the plastic wheel caps that are ivory colored after all these years.

Is that Drew?

I’m overdue a trip to the great land. One day Soon I hope.

It originally came this way. The previous owner had small children so he sourced all the running board parts and took off the mud guards. He couldn’t find them when I bought it but eventually did. I sure like how it looks now.

Made up a new switchplate. Originally for a customer but went a different direction. I liked the idea enough to CNC them.

Damn you.....

I drilled my console and put one of the USB ports there. Wish this was around then. However, I could move the voltage display to that port and then relocate stuff to this plate. Hmm......

Hmm indeed 🤔
Any timeline on when they might be available or just keep checking the site for a pleasant surprise? Not to rush you or anything. I'm pulling my radio out soon to replace with a newer unit and you know, while I'm in there.....

Slowly piecing together the water system. Added an emergency cutoff valve, water pump should be here end of the week!

Used a philmac 1/2” bsp poly nipple > valve > elbow > 13mm hose fitting

Nice! How many gallons? I just recently added an 18 gallon tank under the truck where the spare used to be and put an on demand pump in the quarter panel.
