As suspected. Rear locker wouldn’t engage after day one on Rubicon. Swapped for another stock shaft. Super happy it didn’t break!
RCV axles will happen before spring.

What's your set up? I'm just curious as to what caused that axle shaft to deform like it did. Obviously a lot of torque but from what (large tires, diff gearing, etc)?

It's all in my sig, but LS swapped, 37's, tcase gear reduction, 5.29's. I'm pretty sure it happened in little sluice on the Rubicon. I was very heavy since my wife and I way over packed for our first time out.

OK that makes more sense. And yeah I think I need to change my ih8mud settings to be able to see the sig lines. They haven't shown up for me for a while now.

Nice location for shooting. I see you were shooting in a sitting position. Do you practice prone and standing as well? How far out did you shoot?

I usually practice, standing, sitting, and prone. I like to practice out to 700 yards.

🥰

Cheers

Installed the NAPA 8' x 8' awning.
Thought it was a good deal for 99.99 + 10% off and shipped to the house in a couple of days.
I don't love how it mounted to the factory roof rails because it is angled down slightly. Will likely change the mounting at some point.

Was getting ready to buy this. Have any pictures of it closed? My factory rails are off so I would be attaching it to some Yakima round bars however.

I went out this weekend to royal blue in Tennessee with my buddy in his 04 Wrangler (no lockers with 35s). It was great I got a chance to see how capable a triple locked 80 is. It climbed over everything pretty much effortlessly. However, the weakness of every 5,000lb vehicle on 33s is a good sticky deep mud hole. Thankfully, we had a Fj cruiser with a wench near by!

Well that place hasn’t changed, been there done that! I think I am still cleaning out Mud from 20+ years ago!

For this weekends activity I took the running boards off my 80. The hardware was starting to get eaten by the rust bug. Thankfully everything came off reasonably and the bolts that did break didnt cause me much issue. On another note if anyone wants the factory running boards that is in the eastern Tennessee area let me know!! View attachment 2754371View attachment 2754374
Looks good, you probably already have but if not, remember to put the bolts back in the mounting holes, a few less places for water to enter.

Depending where you are in ET, I may grab the boards. Thanks

Does sitting actually count off a tripod? ;)

Would you shoot at a deer or elk at 600 yards sitting without a tripod or some other kind of rest?

I practice for hunting and I always have a tripod when I am hunting and I will always take the most ethical shot that I can when hunting.

Finally received my 4X4 Labs group buy bumper and was able to replace the beat up rear end.
