Had to do the same thing to one of the shocks on my 80 when it was about 10 degrees out. Super fun.

I removed all the crappy looking woodgrain from the dash/doors/console yesterday. Massive improvement but now I really notice how nasty the carpet is. Probably just order more parts tomorrow for replacing something else lol....
I’m in the process of doing that myself. Actually it’s sort of doing it by itself.

That is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I don't know if I could keep my 80 from running into it lol.
If you did that they would probably like it, and it would look more like this.

Picked a great day for a coolant flush, but definitely needed it.

Prestone flush in the fluid for a 2hr drive.
Good flush and backflush with the hose.
Another chrmical flush and distilled water for 45 min.

Also did the thermostat and discovered it was not OEM and had no passthrough valve (or whatever it is called) for constant flow.

3 more hour cycles with just distilled... Never came out clear but a huge improvement from where it was. I'm now idling at 181 compared to 195.

Went with Prestone green 50/50 premix. I think this cooling system has had too rough of a life to Transition back to red.

Definitely is always a blast! I ran Elephant Hill and Top of the World this year, had to drive back on Saturday, so no trail run that day.

Elephant Hill has some fun wheeling, but it also has incredible hiking trails ( the Joint Trail) through slot canyons and caves. My wife's favorite part of the whole week.

Really, every trail I have been on in Moab has been amazing. Wish it was closer to us!
Do you HAVE TO HAVE a CB radio to be allowed on those group runs?

Finally installed the Warn m12000 in the arb. Purchased from Albertosd here on mud.

For those like me who wonder if it bolts right in and needs or doesn’t need spacers, confirmed that no spacers are needed.

Have wire for now and will switch to synthetic at some point. Guessing this thing will never get used.

Pics all done.

Last step is front e locker.

I really like that bumper and warn . Can you add the 2 things and use the oem shocks and springs ?

The search continues for Land Cruisers in Spain. Headed towards Barcelona now, hoping to look at a right hand drive 80 series. Had some good luck with to Cruisers the other day waiting to see if they will except my offer. They did treat me to an incredible meal though.

I put on my OCD panties and removed some of that hideous fake wood trim...

Fan clutch for the second time in a couple years. Modded my black clutch with 20k, but it still wasn't doing the job, so I sprung on the blue clutch and replaced my broken water pump stud. (FYI- ran with only three studs for a couple years with no ill effects :o )

Are you living there now or just visiting?

First oil and filter change on my rig. I used a Baldwin B2 and Rotella 15w40, engine is more quiet and much better oil pressure.

Rad and hoses on Wednesday:clap:

Eaton? I never got mine to work that well either.

Stevenmichael,
“I really like that bumper and warn . Can you add the 2 things and use the oem shocks and springs ?”

Good question but i am not sure of the answer. The bumper and winch weigh a lot. My friend that built the cruiser i have already added the OME lift.

I imagine you could try it but just be prepared to add heavier springs if the new load up front is too much for the stock ones. Easy change if need be.

Other guys in the know may give better feedback with experience backing it.

Visiting. I could live here though, especially about 40 mikes or more west of the city. Or on a hillside north of the city overlooking the Med. Searching for cruisers. Picked up a Prado this evening, can’t import it yet but it’s worth it to store for a few years. Found storage outside of Barcelona for about $30 a month can’t beat that. A nice RHD 80 from England but it was too rusty.
