finally got around to replace factory leaky paper clips and lines with a fin aftermarket cooler (thanks Joey for the idea) and -6an fittings and hoses (factory hp lines discontinued)..no more leaks.

I did this in 2017 but used the biggest cooler that would fit in that space. According to my infrared thermometer, system temps are down in the neighborhood of 40*f on a summer day on or off road.

No leaks here, but "the coolness factor" has my attention!

:hhmm:

Are you sure about that 40 f? Your transmission temps are cooler than ambient air?

He probably means they drop down 40f from whatever they are at, not down to 40f.

That’s makes a lot more sense. Lol

I said fluid temps are down about 40f, meaning, lower than before. The cooler and fluid being discussed her is for PS not trans.

On a warm summer day wheeling Rubicon my steering box used to be 175-180ish. Now, 135-145 is usual. I put a heat sink style fluid cooler on the rig I had prior to getting into 80’s back in 2012 also. They might not be the best cooler available, but they are durable and easy to mount, and don’t require a constant flow of air to have some positive affect on fluid temps.

Note that I installed a larger heat sink than you saw in the @Marco Lau photo.

Heard some rattle discovered it was time to replace the muffler. Both ends were cracked, something was loose inside, and found a couple pin holes in the bottom = done.

Replaced with the same (close as possible) Walker Sound FX #17853. It was a little challenging welding for me because I have it shoved up as far as possible. The sound is the same, very quiet with some slight tone.

Good to go for another 6 years. Cost is a surprising low @ $22 for replacement makes it hard to complain,

I removed the driveline to make the install easier and did a full service on it while it was out. No pictures because is a messy job and just want to get-r-done!
