Some wheeling fun in Big Bear this morning.
Came across an old mine with great views of the frozen lake.

I've been driving my vehicle as a DD for the last 2 weeks. Decided this weekend to dynamat and dynaliner the interior, pulled up all the seats and rugs! Ugh, the more I got into the interior, the more I ended up pulling out more and more stuff! The carpet is gone and I'm gonna have to find me some replacements (vinyl would be nice, any leads?). Aftermarket wiring for electrical mods and add-ons were all pulled, pulled the dash panel, everything. Needless to say it was fun and quite a learning experience!

As for the deadner, I tried the old-fashioned chisel and hammer (you'll see evidence of that below), then degreaser (again more evidence below), and, finally the dry ice with isopropyl technique (YAY!). Dry ice worked like a charm and I was only out about $60 something and some change after my purchase from Publix down the street.

Now time to dry ice the deadener (did some of that tonight), clean it up (looks like I have some sanding ahead of me since I found some rust spots), dynamat, then dynoliner, think out electrical accessories and connections (dual battery installed but needs to be connected to 7622 blue sea and fuse block). Will be doing headliner in dynamat and dynaliner too! Gotta figure out how to clean the dash panel area and will be adding LEDs to the instrument cluster panel this coming weekend.

Props to all those who posted info on dynamats and blue sea installs, I've been doing my homework and will post some more pics perhaps on my own thread!!! Looks like I'll be driving another vehicle for about a week before I get to work on this again, can't wait!

Got the axles dry assembled other than the king pin bearings and back under the springs. I didn't grease or torque anything since I'm just trying to get it rolling to get it out of the shop so I can degrease and pressure wash the underside. I need to get it clean to undercoat and I need to strip some heavy surface rust of the frame so i can por-15 coat those areas.

@PIPA nice work. For vinyl check out Jason at Trail Tailor. @reevesci on here.
Hey @jfz80 thanks for the recommendation! I messaged him a few days ago, he just recently got back to me and we are go, but it will be a few until the next order goes out. No rush, it looks like I got a ways to go with removing the old stuff and putting the new stuff in. Meanwhile, I'll just use the old carpet and refurb it (plus removing the old carpet pad that has grown onto it) as a substitute! It's good to hear from members of the community on here vouching for one another, looking forward to working with @reevesci

I love my vinyl I got from Jason. One of the best mods I've done.

And Jason is a solid dude. Highly recommend.

Repaired the radiator in my 92 3FE. Fired her up this morning to test it out and it is split on the backside as well.

OEM radiator is NLA. What one am I supposed to get? @jonheld @Tools R Us @Trollhole

It's brass, have it repaired, I thought that is why people bought those archaic things?

....
Cracked open the oil cap on the 93 and found this.
...
On the plus side I have a spare 1FZ-FE with 150k on it I just got for free that I need to just go pick up. I guess I will be speeding up that rebuild.

And yes, I'll do leak down tests and all that happy BS too. FML.

So you found a bit of moisture in the oil cap and are going to replace the motor,,, why? Crankcase moisture is normal, especially with cool weather and with infrequent, short trip driving.

This is probably the 4-5th post I've read in the past month, where someone pulls the oil cap, on a stone cold engine, in the middle of winter, and are now going to replace the engine! Lol
Where can I buy the "bad" engine they just pulled?! Lol
