Replacement, one of the issues this thing had when I got it was the belt alignment for the smog pump, which I have deleted, was somehow off. The guy I got it from couldn't keep belts in it. I've done some stuff and for the belt aligned about 98%. If I just went to an electric pump wouldn't have to worry and would gain a bit of power.

Got rid of some junk at the dump. And took the dogs out to a local field for ball and frisbee. My female is actually part of a frisbee league. We’ve been doing it now since May. She’s really fantastic and it’s tons of fun.
That last photo is superb, she’s looking right at the camera. Frame it!
Drove Betty an hour south of Munich with a friend (he has a 72 Mercedes 280E) to an 'old timer' show. Surprisingly, they just let us both drive right in and display. I wasn't expecting that. Lots of nice cars ... BB got a lot of attention and made the Heep and the RR look pedestrian.

Funny I went to a show today too but my truck was a year too young. I didn’t bother to push it. Lots of beautiful vehicles. Damn these photos are amazing. Crazy youre able to get the dogs so sharp while in motion. I mostly use old manual lenses because im broke, but the new autofocus tech is insane

How’s the LS swap been treating you? Other things have gotten in the way of mine and I’ve had time to entertain a diesel swap as well. We got a 70 series Prado with the 1kzte and that pretty much convinced me that all cruisers should be making those diesel sounds. We just sold it this past weekend after having it for over 2 years.
I found my dream cruiser two months ago and bought it. Hj47 pickup with the 2H diesel and I love the tractor sounds it makes.
Both of these trucks are pulling me towards diesels, but being able to find parts anywhere for an LS is mighty tempting. Especially since it’ll be the rig we travel in most as a family.
I have a 6.2 LS stripped down and sitting in the garage, or I’m looking at a bmw m57 from the diesel X5.

M57’s are sweet but they do have quite a few plastic parts…
Dude, i highly recommend LS if its going to be a vehicle your travel a lot in with your wife and kids... leave the diesel for your rig haha. Get the biggest muffler and resonator you can fit in there and 100% do cats for the smell. I think the noise and smell will make the times with the family get a little interesting haha
For my truck its been 5 years now since I did my LS Swap and i have done nothing to the motor at all besides change the oil. I have gone through 3 FSR Radiators, but other than that there have been zero issues with my LS swap at all. Ive driven it across the country, wheeled moab in 105 degree heat, drove up the colorado range at 70 mph, drive through and wheel the mountains here in oregon. Drive from portland to seattle at 85mph every few months and back. I even towed this boat through the mountain passes between bend and portland doing normal traffic speed no problems. Zero issues with the motor itself at all.
I think a big part of my truck being so reliable is that my Gen 3 motor is COMPLETELY stock. I got a low miles (77k) motor from a reputable junk yard, changed the oil/plugs/sparkplugs all with oem stuff and have ran it since then. When i got the motor tuned I told the tuner that i wanted fuel economy and reliability over horsepower... so to the wheels my truck only makes 250 HP. I run that Restore and Protect oil and it helps clean it up a bit inside. Ive sound deadened my truck, done all the seals, converted it from manual to auto, got nice seats, etc all to make the truck more comfortable for my wife and kid and there is never a single complaint about taking the old truck instead of the 100 series.
I get the desire for a diesel though, and if you can get that M57 quiet and not smelly id say go for it, but my 60 series I trust to be more reliable than my wifes 100 series to be completely honest. Ive got a few buddies up here with 12v cummins in their 80 series and I can not understand how they deal with the smell and the noise. They love them though haha
