Built an engine support and transport cradle for a F, 2F, or 3F(E). I'll be having the spare 2F rebuilt sometime this year and needed a good way to transport it.

Drove it to a car show. They “ran out of room for regular cars” but I found a spot. Didn’t wash it or anything.

Met Arne who holds the record for the Cannonball Run. Both cars he’s done it with were there. The “Fraud Taurus” is most notable.

I have some little stuff to install. Just been busy. Was good to get it out of the garage.

“Regular cars” pffffttt …. They didn’t know what a classic gem they had on their hands!

I had to wait in line to get in, then I got shooed off. They let a Cyber Truck go in ahead of me. Later I saw a BONE STOCK Honda Accord Sport 2016ish. Also a clapped out 2010ish Chrysler 300 SRT8. I understand a Porsche but they’re all pretty much 911s. Some just have spooli bois and only one lug nut per wheel. I knew a guy hosting the event so it all worked out in the end :) The event had a crazy turnout, one which they did not expect for a first time event. Hence why they started saving spots for “cool cars.” They had beer there so I was happy.

New Paco Pad. Very durable and comfy. No?
After 20 some odd years, it's also the biological equivalent of a soap bar at the Y.

Added a glob of torquecheck goo to the bolt that secures the yoke on the steering shaft at the steering box. I once had this bolt back off enough that the yoke slipped off the steering box. Since then I've used blue loctite and correct torque to keep it together. As I had the wheel off this morning I decided to add a means for a quick check of bolt security.

Finally had time to figure out why I was getting an annoying rotational tick/click on my 62 that went away when I applied the brakes. Started up after getting my FJ40 wheels installed so thought it may have been an inner wheel weight hitting the caliper or shield but they all seemed fine. Turns out it was a $1.45 anti-rattle clip that had broken allowing outer pad to move up and make contact with caliper making a "tick/click" noise.

Hit three auto parts stores near me and none had in stock. And of course I was jacked up in middle of garage blocking the door so needed to put it all back and do it again when the part came in the next day.

Was a lot of effort for such a cheap part though seems to have solved the issue. Did give me some time to go underneath with a bottle of Simple Green and a roll of shop towels to clean a few spots up. Seem to have a drip and I think it is from the oil cooler hoses. Also snugged up all my oil pan bolts as they seemed quite loose.

I finished up the desmog project I've been working on for a while, gave her a much needed bath, then took her for 10 mile drive in to town to get some buttermilk. This is the first time I've drove her in about a year. Man it felt good to get her on the road again. This is also the first time I've drove her since I sound deadened the floor, doors and rear cargo area. What a difference it made.

We have owned this 84 landcruiser since 1996. It hasn't been driven on the road with active registration since 2010. I have spent the last three years fixing it up. Got a license plate on Friday. Saturday morning drove 2 miles to the gas station to get some 100% gas/no ethanol. Fired up immediately after filling up. On Sunday I tuned the idle a little since it was dropping down to < 500 rpms. I also washed of the roof on Sunday. I want to replace the side mirrors and finish peeling off the window tint. The white cylinder on my wiper is a temp vacuum gauge.

Charcoal canister was completely clogged. Getting lots of fuel smell and some pressure at the tank.

Pulled the cc. Emptied the powder (formerly charcoal). Pulled and cleaned the filters and bought aquarium charcoal to refill.

Going to weld it up today, paint and re-install.

I did the same thing but didn't weld it (). Instead I wrapped the entire seam with a piece from a sheet of viton rubber, then the clamp goes over that. It may start vibrating apart though. I may have to bungie cord it. I guess I could do the same thing but just weld it in 3 or 4 spots.
