What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

I did the same thing but didn't weld it doh. Instead I wrapped the entire seam with a piece from a sheet of viton rubber, then the clamp goes over that. It may start vibrating apart though. I may have to bungie cord it. I guess I could do the same thing but just weld it in 3 or 4 spots.

I added about a dozen tack welds and stopped because I think that I may have smoked the upper filter… lol. Hope not! Sanded them down, then Added some JB Weld to seal it up. It ought to hold.

First time to use the Nomad to launch and retrieve the boat, granted i broke the front wheel jack of the trailer, broke the trailer ball joint hinge (to my defense it was rusted) and one of the wood planks holding the boat.
Still consider it a success

Modified the OEM roof rack so the water tank and roof top tent will fit. The roof rack is bolted together so adapting it for other purposes is really easy.
Got the rims back and painted them with my GF. She’s real help and loves working on the FJ62…

Embarked on a cruiser rite of passage and pulled my transmission and transfer case for the first time. The process was straight forward, but also kinda awful. Per the usual, lots of helpful advice here on mud from those of you that have paved the way.

Thanks! Unfortunately, it won't be a 5 speed this time, but potentially in the not so distant future. Lots of other upgrades going in while the truck is down though!

Headed out this morning, topped a hill and about 1/3 way down the hill was a stranded Dodge diesel dually. The guy had just gotten it out of the shop having something with the emissions/DEF system worked on. He made it almost home before it lost power. I hooked up a strap and towed him the last 1/4 mile home, mostly uphill, in H55F 1st. Once the clutch hooked up the 2F just chugged along.

My dad did this a while ago with a broken down RV. The owner doubted the 60s ability.
H55F has a nice low first gear.

Knocking more little things off my to do list on my swap.
Got my receiver drier mounted onto my airbox, charged the AC w/ 1.7lbs and low and behold, it works, blows super cold and the PWM fan even comes on when the compressor is on.

I also got my Speedhut tachometer and speedometer mounted and wired. I hit a little SNAFU with the combination gauges but I'll get that handled soon.

My list of to do's is getting shorter and I'm getting to trust driving the car further and further. It's a great feeling.

One of my, less than two years old, Advics wheel cylinders failed tonight right as I was pulling into my driveway. This is going to be fun. It was not old enough to have a right to fail, the last ones were as old as me when I replaced them, and they were fine. I'll probably get a cheap Duralast from Autozone and slam it in to get the truck stopping again, then get a spare of some sort and carry it around with me in case the other side fails as I replaced then as a set. I expect better of Advics.
