What did you do with your 60 this weekend? (35 Viewers)

After running around a couple places Friday getting a weeping coolant hose looked it and temporarily taken care of, I FINALLY got "Flower" in the garage where it can be worked on! So here goes:

- Pulled the driver side seat and swapped rails onto the passenger side - removed the "poor excuse for a cup holder" and popped that seat in. Lubriplated the bolts from past rust (entering from somewhere I have yet to find) and had all bolts back in place in 5 min.

- With the door panels off I got inside the passenger side and cleaned out of some debris around the drain hole.

- Got a "wild hair" after the seat was put in and removed the console and started on the non working heater. YEP, that's ALL spare change, pencils, screws and bolts found under the carpet in the infamous "Bermuda Triangle" (that area between the seats and arm rest you can never seem to get stuff back from).

- Unbolted the aftermarket fog lights and detailed them anticipating later on solving that rust issue on the chrome.

Plus a bunch of other small things because the greater Seattle area had sun!

Saturday: Did final cleaning of floorboard, then started the Dynamat Extreme install. IMO - much harder than it looks (at least to get it down looking nice & smooth). While doing this, decided to inspect, clean and 'make pretty' inside qtr panels. Sunday: Ran a few errands downtown, then went to the property for some R&R with the doggies, then back home and took the front passenger door apart to inspect, clean, grease and reassemble - it was a good day.

I hit the forest roads with my buddies, scouted for potential bike trips next weekend, and generally enjoyed all the work I put into cleaning out the back and reorganizing my tools the weekend before.

Replaced 32 yr old tie rod ends and drag links. Thanks to @cruiseroutfit for the quick shipping on the Three Five kit. If only the ends released as quickly...

Rekeyed the hatch so that ALL of the keys are the same, wheeled Potato Ridge without any issues (for me) and realized that my PS front outer brake pad is down to steel on steel. Rebuild time for the front axle!

Mine is pretty much a garage queen these days, between trips to the dump. But this Sunday I took it down to my regular place to get it smogged (Star Test Only smog station). The guy asked what year it was, looked under the hood and said there were a lot of hoses. He then told me I would have to come back an a weekday, because that's when the guy with "the timing light" is at work. What? I'm already not looking forward to this.

I just got mine smogged last weekend. Make sure they know where the timing marks are (at the back of the engine on the passenger side). The first time I took it in, it took about 15 minutes of peering into the engine bay with flashlights, mirrors and the timing light to tell me I failed. After fixing a loose TPS and resetting the timing, they were much faster the second time. Good luck. :)

Remember to run the magic "JUICE"!

There is a thread here about going to Home Depot and adding a big gulp of special elixir to help pass the dreaded test. See spike Strip's avatar for info also.

Good testing

Thanks for the responses. I took it in someplace else today and passed (barely! right at the max for HC). I might have to use the magic juice next time, but now I'm good for two more years!

Already posted this pic in my build thread, but I went wheeling!
