I’m reading that getting the 8.2” with elocker provides a stronger redesigned axle over just upgrading the stock 8” with a harrop elocker.

Lots of donor vehicles are FJCs with elocker and 8.2”. Not sure what year is best

What was the donor vehicle year and make? I’ve been wondering what’s better and what’s the price: a) 8.2 elocker from donor, b) Harrop elocker with original 8”, or c) lokka or Aussie rear locker

2018 4runner trd with 2400 miles from new. The original owner swapped axles so he could get matching ARB lockers for the front and rear of his truck and i was in the right place at the right time to pick up his cast off elocker..... Got the entire axle installed for a couple hundred more than just adding an ARB airlocker (plus compressor) to my stock 8".... plus as was said the 8.2 is a much more off road worthy rear end.

this harness from low range offroad made the entire swap pretty painless.

How much did you get the 8.2" with elocker for? If you don't mind me asking.

Yeah I would either upgrade to the 8.2 with an elocker (OEM or Harrop) or go all out and get the 9.5" diamond rear.

Swapped out my transmission pan today. Pretty easy and straightforward. The magnets in my pan weren't too bad with 124k miles on the GX. Flushed the ATF fluid with Valvoline MaxLife ATF as well. Feels better now!

Where does one even start to look for an 8.2 rear axle? Would love to swap to one. But I have a feeling finding a doner is next to impossible. Did all FJCs come with the 8.2?

You are hitting timing belt replacement territory @180k! Lol. Nice even 175000

Tightened the bolts on my driver's seat today - somehow three out of four had worked themselves noticeably loose.

Made a remote mount for my Zeon control box

It was so fun! GX worked great. Drove it to Colorado after, dropped it off, and flew home!

You can leave it here in Moab! I have plenty of space, PLUS sky west now flies direct to Denver daily. ;)

Used my awning for some shade while I kept after a project.....
