Im glad you are keeping the 73. The blue is growing on me... I cut this off the blue 69. (It was yesterday actually) lots left to do.

Pulled the old 350 out....now i just need to pick an engine to replace it with.

Went to the bank during lunch for a cashiers check to pick mine up from the seller. Its a 1976 and my 2nd pig, but first one I've owned that runs and a LOT less rust than my previous pig. Cant wait to start working on this one.

Sa-Weet!

Yep. Going in the blue pig. I sold the LV so some money is going into the pig finally. I'm thinking orion 4:1 and new rear suspension too.

Gonna keep the TH400 and NP203 doubler. I love wheeling autos.

Went underneath the old gal on my creeper and started making a mental list of parts I will need from Bob M. :worms: A bit discouraging, so I went for some (relatively) instant gratification. Not much, but something......

Started my '79 for the first time in a couple of years. Owned it since '84. 3.73 diffs and factory ps. All 4 of my kids learned to drive in it. Ran her coast to coast a few times when the kids were small. Has specter non usa carb and points dizzy. All it took was a fresh battery and a piece of sandpaper through the points. Drove it about 3 miles after I pulled the chains off for the first time in ten years. Funny, it runs so well and everything works just like it always has. It's very sad what has become of it. Was perfect when I bought it but my ex insisted we take the kids x-country skiing at Manning Park in B.C. twice a year and they salted the roads like mad up there. Then later they started salting them here on the island . We have a 1/2 mile dirt road up to our place so the salt always mixed with the mud and stayed caked up in there. I now have a very rust free 60 that I will not drive near salt. I use my rusty bj 60 from Canada for that. Sold my fj45 last spring to pay debts racked up from six years of recession in building trades. Dang, that thing had appreciated in value big time!

Very Cool Island! Wish i could get an old 45 like that. Would like one to be my next project, unfortunately for the money those things are going for, it'll probably ended up being an old Willys truck instead :(

Manual tranny would not shift into gears with engine running, so I rebuilt the master clutch cylinder and slave cylinder. Bench bled both, installed, and had my beautiful helper (wife ;) ) assist with the system bleed. First time doing any of that, and it worked!! Shifts so smooth now! Super-easy project, thanks to all the info on this forum
