Intrigued, my wrenching skills doesn't limit my ability to scratch my head with the best of them, if needed..

The problem is that the short little hose (very short) with the banjo fitting coming off the caliper goes directly toward the axle and has to be bent one way or the other to clear. No matter how I install the caliper, I will have to do rerouting/bending of the brake line. In the best position for the brake lines, one of the caliper bolts won't clear the leaf springs. So I have done some cursing. The front ones installed cleanly.

I have always found cursing and stepping away for a day or two works wonders.:lol:
Do believe these guys stock all kinds of metric fittings (45's, 90's) if it would help, and they are local.

@Living in the Past

Those 80 rims look really, really good on the 40's!

Checked one of my early rims and found 11/85 production date. Not widely known but the long wheel base versions of the 4X series production didn't end until 4/86 which would make this style period correct. The nineties 16" five spoke rims would be easier to install just don't look right. Now wondering how the standard 3rd gen. rim would look. Closer to the eighties and came 15" and 16".

EDIT: just looked at my old 3rd gen. standard rims and don't think they would look on any 4X series. Vote still goes to the eighties aluminum rims.

OMG! Looked like a lot more trauma in that pic than trail damage, that sucks, everyone ok?

Geez, that took a solid hit, glad nobody's hurt.

Replaced license plate, interior door and dome lights with LED. Replaced wiper blades. Just received roof rack...need to paint & mount

Took a trip to the Interstate Battery Distrubution site. They were not able to find our CSC account for a discount but still hooked me up with a new Interstate MPT-27F battery with 90AH to replace my old stock 55AH group 34.
Almost doubled my available AH for a $106 out the door :)
Perfect fit with a non issue install using all factory brackets and terminals.
Much better set up for our on board fridge

Got new thirds/gears installed on my 92. Ended up doing a partial front axle rebuild up front, as the inner axle seals were leaking after only 23K miles on a full OEM rebuild :crybaby:. This time around, I am going with a better diff breather setup to prevent this again.

For anyone who hasn't ditched the OEM flapper valve on your diff breather yet... Get rid of 'em! I am going to use an in-line fuel filter on a line extended up into the engine bay instead.

But why do all of my garage projects take twice as long as they should?:meh:

Curious what gear ratio you installed with 35" tires and the all powerful 3FE? Did you leave in the auto locker in the rear?

I'm always think it takes longer because making every effort to do the job right the first time. Unlike a mechanic who does this day in and day out if I've done a job it was a long time ago. Nothing worse then finishing a job and find out it needs to be done again.
