Couldn't really tell. I was out by myself. It's hard to say with out pulling the big skid plate. Is the grinding noise from tcase? I m thinking front differential or front hub flanges.

I am not sure on that. Did the 80 and 100 use the same rear diff? Anyone?
Is the differential the same size and use the same bearings and axel shafts?2001 LX470 has 4.30 gears.

It is from a semi float. The spline count will not work. Would have to change spider gears. So it sounds like the only part that is the same is the main differential body.
Well....... you guys nailed it. Rough day wheeling.️

I would probably put in an ARB locker or equivalent if it needs more than R&P gears.
Oh yeah!!!Was there any damage to the spider gears?
I actually got lucky back in the 90's and found a 72 tub in a salvage yard. Since the 69 tub was in really bad shape rust (etc), I put the 72 tub on the 69 chassis, so I have the later pedal bucket. Everything lined up as it should have.. The only real issue I have had was finding and/or jury rigging the 10mm T's and junctions (Some of it is Rube Goldberg). I think I have enough to finish the job. I wanted all the other hardware (rotors, calipers, master cylinder, booster) on before I finished up the brake line re-do.
That is where I currently am. All the hardware is on.
No worries. ThanksWell I don't think my diff is going to work in your rig and I don't have a ring and pinion gear.

Wish someone would have told me that I needed new brake hoses. Got the new brake lines in, and duh!, no hoses. Just ordered the set from SOR, so can't finish until they come in. And, BTW, I have installed the rear caliper in 3 different locations, and am not happy with any of them.
