I do admire such skillful organization…something I have failed to maintain my entire life. My dad was like Felix Unger from the Odd Couple. My mom told me when they were married in the 1950’s they had used clothes pins to keep the pleats on the bed in perfect alignment and then…in order not to mess it up, slept on the couch !

NUTS !!

but to stay on topic…they never had a diesel
Your work bench looks pretty dialed to me! I spy some good picks on the peg board ! :)

Well it is one of my prized possessions and I keep it like this..
I put casters on the crate it came on
And painted it. And its HAF!
I also always have about 50 gallons of drinking water.
Definitely try to be better prepared since the plandemic. 😬

Yes water is precious people go savage when they get panicked here. I had friends evacuate and went 6 mies in 24 hours had to walk back home after running out of gas for real! there was still diesel long range tank in the near future for me. Want to be able to keep the left door closed for 700-800 miles. GTFO! Can snag some farm diesel if possible trade for some devils lettuce;)

‘Devils Lettuce”….honestly despite be 16 during the Woodstock years, I only had a suspicion of what this was. So GOOGLE tells me it originated in Idaho since this state will never provide for medical or legal use of marijuana. Is that really so?

I am not into politics but we had a politician here in NJ that was as backward as the Idaho laws. Since he has decided to try to be president again, keep that in mind. Popular guy too …..has a 26% approval rating

Today I got the shaft. Driveshaft…. That is. It showed up today UPS after only one week away . The front drive shaft on this Toyota BJ 55 was so worn out I had not seen anything like it before in over 45 years. Knowing this was a non-typical part in the US I sent it off to Tom Woods Custom Drive shafts in Utah. Shawn was remarkably helpful as well as his entire crew that measured and reconstructed a custom driveshaft for the front of this truck. the workmanship is impeccable.

Given some time issues and weather today, this goes in tomorrow morning, looks like it will be absolutely perfect. If you are having any driveshaft or universal joint issues, I could not recommend anyone higher.

Trying to resist my OCD urge to pull the engine and do a complete refresh.

Pulling off the crossover pipe for an intercooler install - intake gunk:

Valve clearance time, probably rebuild injectors while I'm in there:

Easy one today made my own voltage boost for AGM batteries. I modified a fuse tap wired it in series added a 1A diode fuse. It’s low profile and fits great in the LC80.

This is a great way to use the diode and keep your wire safe.

Got things all mocked up for the turbo setup on my 1HZ. Still a lot of work left to do, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how a few pounds of boost will change the way this thing drives!

Obviously I can't speak to how it performs yet, but from a workmanship/manufacturing quality perspective, this Kinugawa looks great.

Finished a timing belt job on my 3L today. I did tensioner, water pump, timing idler pulley, and cam/crank seals.

I also did the engine belts and both idler pulleys, since I already had to pull everything off.

Had to pull my A/C bracket, because it covered one of the belt cover bolts. I could definitely tell that it was an engineering afterthought. Added in afterwards rather awkwardly.
