Not sure - it's on the list of things to check, maybe I'll fire it up tonight and let it get hot.

Definitely can't make it to the trail ride - unfortunately it's about 3 hours away. Someday I'll pony up the three tanks of gas itd take round trip, but without a front driveshaft, decent tires, a new clutch, and a non-flooding carb the truck wouldn't so much good anyway - IF it survived the drive up.

:hillbilly:
Let me know if the carb drips. If you were coming out I had an insulator you could have.

Got a good deal on an used Challenger two post lift. Working on finishing installing it. It'll be nice not having to crawl around under vehicles anymore!

Took the 4 runner out for a road trip to check fuel mileage
19 mpg not to good was hoping for 24mpg but I got good Orange Juice

Redoing the knuckles this weekend as well as calipers and rotors. Got a seal kit coming in and bearings. I didnt order any clips for the axle to birf. Do you guys remove and axel and repack, or just clean out the old grease and repack by hand? Or should I hit up the dealer to see if they have the C clips?

Just my 2cents but I don't clean mine out with any chemical you can't get it all out I just clean them out the best I can and repacked it forcing the old grease out.
Like I sead just my 2 cents. This and $5.00 will get you a cup of coffee.

Checked the timing on my engine - based on the balancer mark, my 283 was idling at 60 degrees advanced...

Used a piston stop to determine the balancer was set to the exhaust stroke on piston 1, instead of compression :bang:.
Drew a new timing mark based on the compression stroke. The engine seems to like about 18 degrees advance, but with the vacuum advance plugged it is maxing out at about 30 degrees advance under load.

In addition, when I put everything back together, I now have a weird "tap" around piston #1 and smoke coming out my valve cover breathers.

Never ends...
