@Mtpenn Who did your paintwork? It looks really good! I see the 4R TRD Pro peeking in the background. Nice stable you got there.

A friend of mine has a paint booth at his house and he does painting on the side but he's really good he does a lot of high end street rods and restorations.

Looks like I'll be making a drive up to Reading at some point - about 5 years from now when I get to the body work. ;) Looks great!

As I was tinkering on my 60 I opened the jack access panel and found a can of touch up paint. View attachment 1092103View attachment 1092104

Eric then inhaled deeply when he released the heretofore virginal 1980's factory paint awesomeness. This trip to Aladdin's cave ended up at the Beach!

I do wonder where I put the yellow outfit.

Man, this thread has really taken a turn since I last stopped by...:D

Interesting, Saginaw is one of my favorite mods to-date!

What is your reasoning?

I'm probably dumping my 69 project, which was going to be a complete resto. the 75 if it even sees trails again will only be on white, pink or baby blue trails at the most, and it just doesn't need power steering for parking lot crawling. I've driven them before with arm strong and skinnies and they drive fine.
basically just more of the oem look and feel to fill in where the 69 was going to be.

I've posted this over in tech but thought I'd open it up to the locals too.

I'm working on trying to figure out why my 283 floods after sitting shut-down for 10 minutes once it comes up to temperature. Won't restart without a cloud of black smoke and wide-open throttle.

Also keep ending up with gas in my oil - but I've epoxied up the Quadrajet's welch plugs (common problem) and replaced the fuel pump (in case it was leaking gas into the crank).

I'm thinking fuel might be getting boiled in the lines or in the carb bowl, causing the float to undulate, and leaking gas down the venturis after the engine is shut off.

Details here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/fuel-percolation-leak-down-283sbc-fuel-in-oil-woes.863763/

I'm thinking of going to hard fuel lines after the pump, and maybe adding a phenolic spacer or heat shield under the carb to insulate it from the intake manifold heat. Any thoughts, insight, or opinions are appreciated!

What intake are you running on it.

An old Edelbrock SP2P. Think it's a single plane manifold set up for fuel economy and low end performance but I don't really know much about it beyond that.

After you turn off the engine can you see fuel drip down the primary side of the q-jet? Are you going to the trail ride this weekend?

Not sure - it's on the list of things to check, maybe I'll fire it up tonight and let it get hot.

Definitely can't make it to the trail ride - unfortunately it's about 3 hours away. Someday I'll pony up the three tanks of gas itd take round trip, but without a front driveshaft, decent tires, a new clutch, and a non-flooding carb the truck wouldn't so much good anyway - IF it survived the drive up.

Had a pad wear hard on the inside of the caliper in the front passenger. Had to drive back from Philly with it grinding on the rotor. So Im thinking its time to replace all calipers and rotors on the front. Truck has 165k on it, should I go ahead and rebuild the knuckles? Should I go with OEM calipers or will NAPA remans work, rotors?? Is Beno still on hiatus? Planning on doing the back plate eliminator as well. Like your thoughts.
