You did say the transmission hump was a major job …it certainly looks like it….

Beautiful fit though

It takes a good metal man

Toyota put a 40 style top cover on the few 40 series equipped H55 trucks. This is a 60 style H55 and the shifter is further back

I took your advice for my 40 and found a set of 3.70 differentials…

Getting close …..

I'm loving following this build and getting ideas for my own Troopy.

Couple questions:
1) Where did you have these rear doors done? I am in need of new outside weather stripping and how to slide into the channels. Do you have a source for the weather stripping perhaps?

2) Have you now gone with barn style doors instead of the full length?

I'm still interested in the discarded hard top if you decide it needs a good home :)

Will keep following and look forward to the finished product as well.

I was at Jason’s Friday. I love this build.

I wish I had the opportunity to drive it sometime. It has to be way awesome to drive.

I hope to catch it outside one day and park my 40 next to it so I can get a true size perspective.

Go drive it while it’s there. Needs
Shakedown miles.

Just be careful 😅

Sorry I missed this.

The truck would be in Vermont by now were it not for those doors. They were copies of 73 series doors and were total junk. No way to make them functional. Hence the move to the 1/2 tailgate doors. I’ll reveal how we close it all up next week.

As for wanting the hard top, did you express interest? I may have missed that.

@clrussell take it out for a spin. I’d love a second opinion on Nolen’s work. I didn’t even check his references before agreeing to this build :)

@WY Trooper let me actually get it in my hands but if the soft top is as good as I hope I’ll have no reason for the hard top.

Sounds good! I'm in no rush. I love the look of my soft top, but there are times when fully enclosed would be great.

Had a couple stop by my campsite this morning to talk and take pictures. They were from outside of Calgary and headed to the Land Cruiser Museum!!

I’m afraid I would want one even more if I go drive it 😬

With 4 kids it really is the perfect balance.

Well a month went by and a little more and finally the Troopy was ready for pickup.

The holdup in the end was that we were going to have to fix so many issues on the soft top that the guys offered to make us a new top for about what it was going to take to repair it.

So we got that done. Jason had it picked up Saturday while we were out camping and Sunday morning I picked it up only to find they did not do some buckles correctly.

I loaded it up and brought it home topless. They are making the proper fixes now and will box it and send it
