How ling did it take? My order is currently a mess.

Cheers

I ordered on Thanksgiving weekend. Get a few bags of popcorn...:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Found the manufacturer finally that already has mold and makes these, even has them in stock. 16x8 6x139.7 and 106mm center bore. available in silver or gun metal. The issue is 0 offset, so you would need 300mm spacers to get the 3.25" backspacing.

Thoughts?
I would be interested in one or more sets depending on cost , 16/8 is a hard to find size for good looking cruiser wheels

I have requested them send me a sample..... please hold....

thanks to @tornadoalleycruiser progress has been made again. Unfortunately, thanks to advanced adapters, progress has come to a screeching halt…. But more of that in a minute. Let’s focus on the positive. Erik came over today and taught me how to clean Parts as he rebuilt the transfer case. Just kidding, I learned a ton!!! So this is a split transfer case from my mid-1980s 60 series I picked up from. @kc_chevota.

So here’s where we had to stop.. I have a 6L 90 transmission, that came from four-wheel-drive truck. The instructions tell you how much to cut off a 2 Wheel Dr. shaft. So I called and emailed and checked with advanced adapters back in January and they told me that nothing had to be done to the four-wheel-drive shaft. Of course I got these parts in early May (6 months after ordering) and never check to see how they fit… ends up that the tranny output shaft is too big to go into the adapter…. So will get on the horn first thing on Monday and see what Has to be done

Ha, @orangefj45 beat me to it. Dang commute from @2fpower 's house is far. Thanks for the grub Kelly. Glad to help. Sure wish we had the correct spud shaft. Coulda pulled an all nighter and stabbed a motor!

Kelly does actually exist. Most of us just get pictures of others working on our stuff. Kelly pressing bearings

HEY, great news. Advance just confirmed that the 50-9612 kit will work with the 4WD 6l90 with no changes! You can also use the 2WD transmission, but then you have to cut off a portion of it.

Just found this post a few pages ago....

uh, no it does not....

Pulled the OEM wiring harness off the engine…. And realized that I had not ordered any of the adapters or stuff that I did for the first engine. Then started wondering if I need them since I’m using the new PCI harness and am using a gen 4 L96 motor. Sounds like a good rabbit hole…. @thatcabledude @cruisermatt

Since the cruiser gods clearly don’t like this Build, and I have a feeling it will sit for a while ….and this engine and tranny is way too big on the lift, I made a mobile base for it.

I wouldn't think you would need anything. I'm not sure what adapters you're talking about though. Ones to fit the factory gauge cluster sensors into the engine?

Yes... am I thinking about this correctly, that if I want to keep toyota gauges, I need to buy the oil pressure and temp sensor adapters and use the Toyota sensors and then just splice on to the new harness the right connectors?

You’ll leave the PSI harness/engine harness alone. No connector changes or adding of sensors. The wiring to the Toyota sensors from the factory stays the same. You just reroute it’s path to the Toyota sensors. The sensors themselves are just in different holes on a different engine.

It’s incredibly simple. The only adapting done is how you thread the Toyota sensors into the new engine. The water temp can be turned down and rethreaded to screw right into a open spot on the GM head. The oil pressure sensor can be adapted a few different ways. I prefer it being placed where the factory GM one is on the top of the block close to the firewall.
