***SOLD*** Thanks for all the interest, hopefully I can get her back someday!

This is my dream rig. It's a 1982 FJ40, professionally converted to the much coveted 12H-T diesel engine and mated to a H55F 5sp transmission. This truck only has 5000 miles on it since it's build of pure awesomeness. I swore I would never part with it, but the impending arrival of our first child isn't leaving me with much choice at this point. Some slight surface rust in places, no cancer at all. The drivers seat has a 3-4 inch tear in it. Those are all slight cosmetic issues, though.. the mechanicals are pristine and drool-worthy. Big amazing diesel, fully resealed (low miles on the engine prior to the rework ,and those of you in the know definitely know how these engines can run for 300-400K miles before needing a rebuild). Dual fuel tank system. Dual electrical systems. Warn locking hubs.

*This Rig is titled as a diesel!*

I had the rig professionally appraised by Automotive Appraisal Services, the same firm that deals with Icon down in SoCal. The rig appraised at ~$45,000, which is clearly much more than I am listing it at. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions, want to come by and see it, or would like to see more photos.

Rock on.

Im looking for a 40 and about crapped my pants looking at that truck and engine. Way out of my price range unfortunately. Good luck with the sale.

This looks like a fellow Texan's truck (Eric R), he moved back to the bay area circa 2008. Is that where you got it?

Well, the original truck (minus the conversion and all the subsequent work) came from TX, so..... maybe? :)

No, Eric did the conversion himself, so it must be different. It was running/driving when he left Texas, he took it to Roundup one year

Be nice to see some interior pictures showing under the carpet and the seats

I haven't had a single mechanical issue. She's always started right up, even this past Feb when it was super cold. There are some spots of surface rust, as mentioned, but none of that affects driveability. I haven't driven her at all on any super long distance trips, but I would forsee her making the trip well.

The conversion was done by TorFab in Seattle - Tor has been great to work with, if you are in the area you really should look him up. Engine was torn down to long block and re-sealed, new belts, water pump, paint, etc with all OEM parts, sorry if there was any confusion about that.

You might consider editing your original post then. If the engine wasn't rebuilt, then you shouldn't advertise it as that. Yet you clearly state more than once that it was rebuilt.
Also, given that you have 26 posts on here ( the majority in this thread ), you're basically an unknown on here. So stating a rebuilt engine when it's not greatly diminishes what little credibility you have.

But the good thing you've got going for you is that it's a cool rig and the conversion was done by a shop with a great reputation. They've earned that reputation and I consider them good friends of mine.

George, thanks for pointing out the discrepancy. Edited the top of my top where it was mis-stated, left the later statement about the resealing. Thanks for the help.
