WHere is John and Steve I know they have something witty to say.

I'm with Marshall on this; I like to believe in the good in people and hope they do/tell the right thing.

Always have something to say, maybe not always witty. Its like this. If i gave Steve some free advice and then Steve took my advice, tweeked it for the better, and then turned around and charged Marshall twice as much for my advice. Kudo's to Steve for making a profit, i guess i'm just a sucker.

Oh, 'bout the FJ blowing up. I look at it (and similar things) this way. I really wish I had time to doubt everything, or call everything into question but I don't. I'm way to flipping busy. I'm with Marshall on this. Unless I have a real good reason or there is precedence to doubt then I don't doubt. I decided awhile back that there are much more important things for me to spend my time on.

So yes, I believe the guy as I don't have a reason not too. Looks like the dagum FJ blew up. Looks to me like the gases were at whatever the 'ignition/explosion level' was inside the body cavities and maybe in the rear but not in the front. He is very lucky to be alive. If I had smelled gas I would have very carefully made my way out of the house, called 911, and let the firemen deal with my stupidity instead of blowing myself up. That guy must be a cat...

If you are a fan of mythbusters then this is very plausible to survive....they just did the leathal weapon toilet bomb scene and the house exploded but only thing that happened to buster was a busted ear drum, so it is very possible its true....I wouldn't try it twice

On a separate note...

I'm pretty stoked. I have some prototype products being shipped off for destructive load testing. In a few weeks I should have a brand new product on the market. They are so sweeeeet....

More double secret probation products?

And we all know JP and I are the only witty ones in the bunch. Sheep.

How Ironic is that.

If the FJ was in a hole would he have died or would he have gotten out.

BS, no way he would have gotten out. Ingram and Clowny would have beat him out of that hole and then covered it.

And all that training paid off when an "average" SC line held clemsons explosive offense to 153 total yards and put Boyd on the ground 5 times!!!!

On a different note, what do you guys recommend for a Spring hike and 'primitive' camping. Looking for something adventorous away from the concrete jungle and vehicular use. Would like to hike light-moderate 3-6 miles. Set up camp, fell some trees build a fire and maybe do some fishing, or just enjoy the scenery. Any past trips you would reccomend for a novice hiker, but moderately skilled backpacker/camper?

... Set up camp, fell some trees build a fire and maybe do some fishing...

If you are talking about public lands (USFS, NPS, state forests, state parks, etc) or really any publicly used lands then that's a sure fire way to get these lands closed to camping and other uses. Please don't cut down trees to burn or for any other uses outside of a dire need. Green trees won't burn worth squat and even if the trees you cut down are already dead it sets a precedence for subsequent unknowledgeable campers to think its OK to chop trees down. "Hey, someone chopped this tree down so it must be OK!" Besides that, it is typically illegal to chop trees on public lands.

I've spent a ton of my personal and professional time and money rehabbing camp sites and trails that have been torn apart by careless campers and other users. It is always best to leave the land better than you found it.

I know it is illegal to chop green trees and I wouldn't waste my energy anyway. Didn't know you couldn't cut dead trees down now.:meh:

most of the SC parks i've went to that allowed fires (weather permitting thanks to our 10yr+ summer drought) allow you to start fires only with limbs/wood that is already on the ground.

But i have not really done any primitive camping in about 10 yrs.

Used to camp out every weekend regardless of weather from about '00-'03

our football team will never again boast an ACC championship win but we take great pride in beating the crap out of the ACC champion!
