Having problems via cell phone finding good directions but muster ground access is via bad creek project.

I just found it on the map. I was definitely close but it appears I was on the other end of Horse pasture Rd., which is now part of the Cliffs at Keowee. It appears that there are miles and miles of gravel road on the side I came in on so if you ever want some different roads and trees to look at, this might not be a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Horsepasture isn't closed. I was there two weeks ago. You go about a mile past the Sasafrass turn off right at the bottom of a steep curve over a bridge and take a left. The rear entrance from the cliffs is closed permanently I believe. The biker bar is Bob'S place. Pretty cool place with a ton of dollar bills hanging from the ceiling.

This year we are adding Horsepasture to the Over the Mountain Tour itinerary. No known way to travel all gravel roads but still some cool spots in between chatoogga river and BB. Later this spring I'm doing some more routing for the ride.

Muster grounds is a fun rides well. Scenery isn't as nice but there are some decent camping spots and good hill climbs.
Mustergrounds is only open during deer season if I recall correctly. I've been once before and it was awesome, though it's definitely important to have a map of the area.

Thanks guys. Like I said, the road where I drove in was off Cleo Chapman Rd. (across the lake from the map linked above) It was open for several miles and there were lots of "spur" roads off it the entire route. The road was fairly wide and a sedan could have driven down it with little trouble other than bumps and terrace rows.. There was no signage at the gate but it was closed WAY back in there. There was signage out by the road stating what time of year ATVs were able to use the area and what days of the week you could ride. It also mentioned that you must have a Hunting license during hunting season. I was definitely not on Horse pasture road but I was really close.

I see where the entrance to the open section of Horse Pasture Rd. is now and will definitely get up there one day soon. Looks like a cool place to visit.

Turned in my 2 weeks notice at work today. They told me I was done today (kind of expected that), but I wanted to do the right thing. Sorry I have been somewhat MIA lately. Super busy trying to work stuff out with my new employer and just general life stuff. I'm hoping to be able to get back to more monthly stuff soon. I am still planning to be at all the big wheeling trips I'm at every year, as per usual. New employer has an F350 for me to use as my company vehicle, so I'm hoping I can work out a deal to use it as a tow rig for the cruiser:smokin:.

So, it looks like I have 2 weeks of vacation coming up:flipoff2:. Morgan told me she already has a nice "honey-do" list prepared for me around the house.

One of our own got his mug in the Friday Upstate Business Journal in an article featuring the co-work space at Brandon Mill.

Why do you think @dmark84 isn't smiling?
A) He doesn't like his picture taken
B) He hasn't had his quota of coffee for smile production
C) HE'S CRUISERLESS!!!!!!!

I'm going with "C"!

C? Is he quitting cold turkey?

Hope he at least follows a 12 step program:
1. Offload cruiser for a 120
2. Offload 120 for a Tacoma
...
12. Offload Yugo for early 90's Ford Taurus Wagon and develop deep hatred for all things automotive.

Anyone up for taking a trip to Jump Off/Horse pasture tomorrow? (Sunday Feb 19) If we leave early enough, could take a trip to Sierra.

Are there GPS coordinates to the entrance to the horse pasture trails?Planning on going up there tomorrow. I know this has been discussed a lot but I'm not super clear on where to go

I used Google Maps - got me pretty close to jumping off [...] (is it rock or point?). Took 178 north, crossed Hwy 11, continued on a few miles, went over a bridge, and turned left up a dirt road. I use Horse Pasture Road as my destination.

Foothills Trail Access A4 is the entrance.

And with that, my house went from all Chrysler (Jeep WJ and Grand Caravan), to all Toyota. The Sequoia joins the 80 and the wife is happy to be back in a 4wd V8.
