Ujoint did front axle swap live at at one of the early east coast "Overland Expo" thingies near Asheville a few years back. They brought in a fully built steering front axle, then jacked the van up and started cutting the old stuff out. The van was moving under its own power by the end of the day.View attachment 1043278
I was there for that! I forgot about that part though.

It'd probably be best if you are upstairs if you plan to fart us all out like you said!:rimshot::flipoff2:

About six listed but only two look exciting. We should go down as a group.

Haven't decided yet. If I do, I'll bring a crate to leave him in the truck when I'm not there.

Why do you ask?

I'm kind of playing it by ear. Wife has to have surgery at the end of this month, so that's determining what day I go up (hoping Wednesday). Also, my brother in law wants to come down from Iowa for the week, but isn't sure about work yet. If he comes, I'll pay for two spots in the cabin. If it's full by the time I figure it out, we will just sleep in my truck or under the stars. So, as usual, I'll just be doing whatever works.

Been on all the ones on the last page. Some are short (Bend n Hickory) and others are mild with a few spots (Charlie's). Bell is being paved soon and is also not a very long trail. The rest are mild.

Anyone ever use hf grinders. I need to replace the one I had. Need to cut body mounts and grind rust off the frame. I can get the cheap one for $11.99. I know at 4.3 amps it's not a beast but I on a budget.

Just make sure you break it fast so you can return it. Everything I've ever bought from HF broke by the third time I used it.

I think you can get a 1yr warranty for like $5.

I've got 2 Hitachi's... Been great. I use mine professionally, so I don't want to have to stop work to take a tool back.
Buy the best you can afford.
I've gotten some good tools at HF, but I've also gotten some junk.
I don't generally buy power tools there, though.

Decided to put it on the back burner for a couple weeks and by a better one.

Has anyone ever had any dealings with Advanced Transmission in Mauldin? My did had a BMW and took it there a long time ago but I was wondering if anyone recommended them. I'm looking to get the transmission and transfer case serviced (drained and checked) and hopefully a leak fixed. I don't have the time to fool with it myself and have finally saved some cash to get it done. Is Advanced Transmission a good place to take an 80 or is there some place better??
