Gabe was trying to give me props. I haven't been on mud much started a new job about a month ago and haven't messed with vehicles much in ~6 mo. Trying to get the Tdi lowered and on rims before summer.

Several companies do 4wd conversions +/- on deferent options. That one is probably a Quigley 4wd conversion. (Ujoint in Asheville does a sweet leaf spring solid axle 4wd conversion using Super Duty axles) Looks like the pop top and other mods are by Sportsmobile. (Which there are a east and west of same company I think IN and CA)

There is another company that does pop tops Colorado Camper Vans. Pop tops are awesome but $$. Sportsmobile is ~$8k CCV is ~$6k. That's on my wish list but I'm not spending that kind of $. I have seen a few used ones for ~$2k+ but then you have to do the install. I'm leaning toward raised roof instead but they are hard to find used in an extended van unless it's an ambulance and I'm not a huge fan of that style. Really hoping I get mine back on the road by summer so I can get the interior buildout going. Shoot any can ?s my way I'm no expert but probably know a little more than most others in the club.

Anyone ever use hf grinders. I need to replace the one I had. Need to cut body mounts and grind rust off the frame. I can get the cheap one for $11.99. I know at 4.3 amps it's not a beast but I on a budget.

I bought a generic cheapo grinder for $10 with my discount from the supply company I worked for 10 years ago. It still works fine. The sawzall didn't last long though.

Very interested in that, but no go right now.

Anyone know who's cruiser that is?

There is a trailer like that on one of the greenwood Facebook groups for $600 obro.

Yeah, I'm wanting to get a military trailer for hunting/camping/fishing trips/general yardwork, and I was planning on doing it earlier this year, but I decided to get a winch instead. Then I was going to get one this month, but I ended up having to buy a new radiator. So, now it's looking like I'm going to have to wait until later this year. I have a trailer I can borrow whenever I need it, so it's not my top priority right now.

My issue with those style is that I can't carry 50%+ of the items I need to. (Lumber, riding mower, etc) I think a 5 or 6 x 8 or 10 would work better for me if I had to choose one.

I need a utility trailer for around the house, but I want to be able to put a RTT on it also. I've not found one that fits all my needs so I'll probably build one in the next year or so. I have the frame designed in Solidworks, but still need to add the finishing details.

I could get a lot of use out of one of the standard trailers as well, but I just figure I can pick a beat up one off Craigslist for $300 when the time comes. The military style would get more use on a weekly basis and they seem harder to find in the 416 size.

Unless you have 1k they are very hard to find. On the other hand the 105's can be had via government liquidation fairly cheap.

The 105s are real easy to find for cheap because they are so big. I think my 80 would struggle pulling one in the mountains. Everyone I've asked about them said they are made to be pulled behind 1 ton trucks and bigger. I've never pulled one though, so I don't know.

If you know anyone who has one, let me know. I'd like to try one out.

I pulled one in my FJC that had all this stuff attached. I wasn't bad and we made it to Crawford's OK.

Rick, do you have a picture of it hooked up to your truck? I would have no problem buying a 105, if it wasn't ridiculously hard to tow.

No, but Dugan put regular trailer tires on it so it was not very tall and axle seemed about the same height as my trailer & level with my pintle hitch.

So the wife and I are camping at davidson river campground till sunday. What we going to eat I said? "Well there's a zaxbys and KFC and etc" she said. Lol we roughing it.

But what about Spinx??? FYI, I tried their $0.99 buffalo chicken wrap the other day. It was stellar!

Nice, I'm going to find one to check out. I bet being on 35s with 5ish inch lift, it may sit level even with the military tires/axle on.

Took the kids to comicon. Saw some interesting sights to say the least.
