Sort of like an extreme form of the whole 99% movement if it was bumped up a few notches and targeted the right people? It is pure madness, but it could happen, just not very likely. The socio-economic rift is expanding in America. It is a real problem that could develop further down the darker path.

That said, I do think the comparison to the Roman is more accurate. We spread our reach too far, mile wide and an inch thick, and then BOOM (and ironically) germanic tribes trample in (perhaps China in our case).

there's more to this story than the MSM is feeding us.

Dedicated_Dad: SOME truth about Trayvon...
The above blog is from someone who dug up some real info. I don't know him or vouch for him. But he lays out some compelling facts.

On a lighter note, a friend ordered a BMW X3 and before he picked it up they emailed him this video.

I need to win mega millions so I can do this on an M6 in Munich and then drive it all over Europe.

I'm not really one to discuss politics, but I thought I'd throw this one out (not wanting to get three more pages, either)

Who's philosphy was:

"To each according to his needs.
From each according to his abilities"

That's what we have basically become.

That would be Karl Marx my friend...

I have a hard time seeing another Hitler, if you go back and look at how he came to power, there isn't enough blind patriotism for any one to follow that path. He was able to do what he did due to the after effects of WWI and the complete desolation of the German socio-economic system, also using essences of counter insurgency ie. burning down the Reichstag and blaming it on Jewish extremists. Any way, I don't see us rowing down that river...

really...we as americans wouldn't point our fingers to single out anyone?

Look along the us/mexico border...the self appointed redneck border guards that are shooting innocent women/children as well as suspected drug runners.

Ok so I have always had a philosophy about illegals wanting to come to America....I welcome you to our country all I ask is that you get here the proper way and thru the proper channels...also if your country is that bad and ours is that good why don't you change your country....there are plenty of smart people in other countries that can bring good change

Cool, they were talking about doing this when I was working at BMW last year. We wondered how they would integrate it, ameks sense that they used the hautomated sections. :)

In this instance we (collective) are seeking to keep people out of the US that are here ILLEGALLY, not those who come and go through the proper channels. If you look about in the 1st world countries you will find that the US is perhaps the easiest to immigrate to as a matter of fact. My mother is from GB, thus I hold dual citizenship, however when I got married, we tried to get it for my wife and she has had to wait 5 years to even apply, others require specific qualities or skills to even get visas. For people to claim that the US is hard to get in to, it is only hard if you compare it to say, Mexico.... We are not singling out an ethnic group and systematically exterminating them, the only time you might have seen that was post 9-11 with middle eastern descent people, but we didn't even do it then. We also could have done something much less horrific like the internment camps we put the Japanese in during WW2, but again we didn't do that either. We have seen enough in history to keep ourselves from doing something like that ourselves...

we americans just have too short of an attention span to really use one particular people as a scape goat.

along with the japs, mexicans and mid. eastern peoples we've also done a great deal to suppress african amercians over the years as well as women and then the native americans probably more so than anyone else. Pretty much kicked them to the most desolate/unusable habitat we could find...and if we found something there we wanted later (gold/oil) we then kick them out again.

Giving them blankets taken from small pox patients and sending them hiking cross country....really an "all men created equally" moment there.

our attention span is so short that even though in our grandparents life time people who publicly or even privately pushed communist/socialists political views could be arrested/accused of being a spy we elect a socialist president.

At one time the native americans out numbered all other nationalities in north america. When was the last time you went to a resturant and saw a family of native americans sitting there eating?

I'm certainly not validating anything, but when that was written, only western european white dudes were "men." Everyone else was sub-par thus expendable. Thankfully (hopefully) we have reallized the error of that thought process.

As far as healthcare goes, my thoughts are:

I agree with Troll that we should help one another. Call it the golden rule if you will. I do not think though that we should allow the gov't to figure it out for us and tell us how to go about it and how much money it costs. It's a long, hard, messed up, tragic road if we do.

Some of the math I've done recently suggests that if I didn't pay as much in taxes as I do now--state, federal, medicare, social secuity, etc. (there's 27.8% of my paycheck goes to Uncle Sam) I'd have my mortgage paid off in less than 4 years. Think about how much I could give to local charities beginning in 2016. Whether I would or not is a different conversation. Or I could increase my payment by more than 50% and start giving to charity now and we'd both come out ahead. Or, with the extra time we spent in the hospital with Jenna for jaundice...I could write them a check and be done with it. Instead, I'm having to set up a payment plan for 18 months.

I'm not as concerned with the cost of the care she received, more with the fact that I make enough money to cover it I'm just not allowed to use it because my gov't has decided that someone else deserves it more than I do and has made decisions on how to allocate it.

and that is how we end up with the 1% argument. I am in the same boat. I could pay for anything (almost) that came at me if I didn't pay income tax. Many could. The problem is, a MAJORITY can not. That is why we have the systems we have. Now we have more people falling out of incomes and middle income brackets and becoming even more dependent on the system.

Fun huh?

True enough, but, I've got a job to go to so I can not get my money. I can't afford to take off time to go camping on the court house lawn. So am I still in the 1%? Or, is that just the dirty hippies who have nothing better to do?

a MAJORITY can not.

I have no facts to back this up, but i think a very large portion of this so-called majority could but they won't/don't. They walk around with their palms open looking for a handout. If you need help, I'd like to help you. I do not want the gov't making that call for me.
