Getting ready to take a day trip at fordyce in a week or so. Still trying to get everything buttoned up on the cruiser. Im getting a tool box set up and wanted to know what you guys bring along.
What should i have on my "wheeling checklist"?

Awesome pictures in the near future

I don't know how hard you plan to wheel, but this is what I carry daily:

Wheel bearings
Knuckle bearings
1.5 knuckle rebuild kits
New spare of every hose, vacuum line and belt
3 or 4 small wood 2x4's (priceless!!!)
Hi-lift jack
Come-along (until I have a winch)
Extra of every fluid
A few tarps and rags
Rope
Extension cord
A husky metric wrench/socket set with 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" sockets

It all fits into two totes from Office Depot, besides the tool kit.

Here is my list so far-
Contents in tool box:
-Metric socket set with all sizes, lengths, and drives.
-metric wrench set
-Screw drivers and drill bits
- zip ties and duck tape
-A few knives
-Pliers and cutters
-Wire brush and terminal cleaner
- extra air line and fittings
- lock tight and anti seize

Box with
-extra fluids
- rags
-Brake cleaner
- oil filter
- little bucket
- leather gloves
- latex gloves
- tire pressure gauge
- air compressor
- tire repair kit
- first aid kit
- headlamps/ mag lights
- chainsaw depending on trail
- jumper cables
- spare nuts and bolts
- extra valve stems

Anything im missing or shouldn't need? This is minus the spare parts..

I need all you veteran mud members to help me out. When im driving along in H4 and go over a small rock or put any load on, it makes this awful grinding noise. L4 is fine, but only when i back up a foot after locking the hubs and engaging 4wheel drive.
I was told its not a big deal, but i need to keep it out of H4, and that the shifter fork was worn out or something. I havent had any experience with transfer cases so this is all new to me. I will have someone do the work, but he needs a diagram. Does anyone have one they could post up?
Thanks
-Ty

Still not sure what my problem is. When i lock the hubs and drive around in 2wd there isnt any noise. When i put it in 4wd with the hubs free there isnt really a noise. When the hubs are locked and its in 4wd it does ok until i go up a hill and when all momentum is gone and i give it some gas i hear this grinding noise. More so in 4hi. I still need to drain the fluid and check for shavings. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like something isn't lubricated enough

Check T-case, diffs, transmission.

Ok. I will replace the tranny and transfer case fluids when i change the oil. Thanks. I hope that its easy of a fix

Hopefully it's not a sheared gear or shaft
