Any experience with universal sockets? I just order one to try to remove the square plug from the top passenger side of the 2F to connect the heater valve. Just can't get a grip on it, tried 8point sockets already.

I think I had one a long time ago. Was too big to fit in a lot of spots a normal socket would so I never used it but you have a different application so that's not much help.

What size is that square on the plug? you've probably already thought about this but any chance a 3/8" or 1/2" extension would go over it and you could use it backwards with a wrench on the square hopefully then more accessible end?

and just to help spend money it looks like there are sockets made for square plugs....

its 14mm square. Closest 8pt. I could find is 5/8, and it rounded corners. 1/2" 8 pt. won't go in. Of course a pipe wrench will work, but I would have to remove the carburetor to get that in there. Tight space. The only place I found so far a 14mm 8pt. is the UK, havent bought that yet, long delivery time

Today’s little project, new hatch struts. No more smacking my head on the hatch. Nice and strong and lifts hatch the higher then stock.

Snow?

So still working on the 80.
I've been waiting on air intake gaskets now for a week to arrive at the dealer parts counter but no telling how much longer that will be.

Do any of you have a new pair of air intake plenum gaskets, like the one pictured, that I could buy from you? Or borrow until mine arrive then I'd give you the new set?

I'd like to get this thing put back together while it's dry out side before the next rain.

I've checked the local retail parts stores too and no one, near me, has them in stock.

Partsouq.com have it in 3 days

They have quite the selection of patterns. You didn’t want the “Send nudes” lock rings?
It seems like the "Panty Dropper" design might interfere with access to the nuts...lug nuts that is. Hey, can't have it all, right?

I prefer the "Hefty Chick" in the weld-on section.

We can't always get what we want, right? The wife dislikes Fort Knox enough already. LOL

What bead locks did you go with?
I will be in the market soon for a pair

@SFROMAN - One thing to be cautious of that I just learned, fortunately before having the bead locks welded onto my rims... Make sure your rims are not “reverse mount” rims, meaning that the tire mounts on the rim from the inboard side. If so, you can’t use weld-on bead locks on them. It’s apparently extremely difficult to get the tire over the outer rim, and the rims tend to lose the bead on the inside, not the outside.

Here are my rims, which as my luck would have it, are reverse mount rims. Looks like I need to buy new rims.

So had to pull the upper plenum back off just before I torqued the new gaskets down due to a bad thread in one of the holes. Any how, one of the rear alignment bushing/spacers feel down into the frame area never to be seen again.
It appears it comes with the plenum and is pressed in.
Has anyone else encountered this and found a good replacement part?
This pic was borrowed from mud but the red circle is the bushing/spacer I looking to replace.
