I call bulls***.

Same here. At the very least, after seeing how easy it bolted up, I'd be disappointed if there wasn't at least a "No f*ckin' way!!!"

Big transmission but there is a ton of room to work under there, especially on the 2WD

I call bulls***.
Celebratory f bomb at least?

 No cursing during the 10 minutes of sliding the transmission in is what I meant. Plenty of cursing holding up the (guessing) 50# flywheel, trying to align the tiny 3/16" dowel pin, while starting one of the 10 bolts. Plenty of cursing when trying to align the four parts of the (guessing) 50# dual disk clutch with its 6 bolts and two studs, and alignment tool.

Many f-yeas were exclaimed over celebratory beers at the fire pit afterwards :bounce:

Got the arb bumper today for the Tacoma and tore right in and got everything off only to find there was no mounting hardware or brackets.... but got the new 2014 stuff on the truck and it looks a lot better now I just need the matching hood!

@WhiteTiger911 thats going to look sweet!!
Thanks man really looking forward to getting it together hoping to find a hood in the next week or so, but good news was all the lights swapped over from my old headlights plugs and all, can’t wait to get the ARB on whenever they get back to me with the brackets and see how it looks .

Several folks already know I took a part time job wrenching on FedEx trucks while looking for another teaching gig (which is becoming iffy since this pays better).

First assignment was an engine swap (no biggy) on a Ford (well chit) into a van (dammit to hell, really!?).

Anyway, it drove out today.

I know this is the wrenching thread, not the rant thread, WTF?!?
I’m amazed that for a talented teacher such as yourself that can even be close.
I loved it down there, and thus was probably my only gripe about NC. Since I have 2 kids, it’s a big part of the reason i’m (temporarily) back on New England.
I’m glad it’s working out for you @Rice, but it’s a loss for the people of NC.

More ferd wrenching. Converting to 10 lug axles from the weird wide 8-lug pattern for future upgrades. Originally planned to swap entire axles, but swapping hubs became the job after realizing that the axle I had to go in had a smaller diff than I currently have (s135 vs s110).

Turned out to need brakes, and bearings can't hurt. All these parts are enormous. Stock rotors are over 15" in diameter in the rear and the ring gear is 14.25" in diameter.

Been chasing a a343 code: PO758 shift solenoid # 2 fault and really been doubting the solenoid as it occurred directly after dousing underside in degreaser. Ecu and harness passed FSM test but i still doubted solenoid failure (diagnostic step 3). Removed, cleaned and reinstalled all sensors with dialetric and it turned out to be the last one i touched. (Or the magic wiggling of wires i hope not to be the case) The Park/neutral indicator switch on USPS forward portion of the transmission. Hope it may help future searches as there was not a lot of info to be found on it.

Took on the job of finding out why this 80 would lose power once getting up to interstate speed after a few miles. Started with inspecting the harness and saw this guy righthere

And then I pulled back the loom and electrical tape to find this mess.

Before tackling that I went and did a compression check. All cylinders were above 180 and still in the 10% range. checked timing and all was good. So went to the fsm to figure out what the wires were necessarily power. Found it to be injectors #1 and 2. Cut the wires and got some wire I had of the same gauge and spliced and heat shrinked it like it should of been done the first time.

Also found out that they deleted the temp sensor in the EGR and tricked the computer with a shunt but they never actually deleted the EGR so I went ahead and welded it up. Drove it to school and work the next day and ran like a champ. Owner picked it up this evening and said it ran great on the drive home!

Impressive Garret, Do you plan to go to school to be a Toyota tech? Keep up the really good work and a reputation will follow,
All you learn and experience now, will end up in your profit margin later.

Also got the hardware so managed to get the bumper on today. As for the hood since it all closes and is the same color plus I don’t think it looks to bad so just gonna leave it as is for now. .....plus kinda bought a Black Friday TV instead of a hood. Oops

‘Capping’ off the holiday feast with some serious wrenching turning here :grinpimp:
