dang, I loved the custom paint job on that
Valves are adjusted and oil pan is off to be powder coated. Valve cover retaining nuts are getting zinc plated as well. Jimc plug kit.
Started on the suspension this evening as well. Ome deluxe kit with a 4plus flip kit. Zinc plated ubolts.
I would reinforce the rear spring hangers, but that's just me and my mangleage
I do like the idea of the reinforcing the forward rear spring perches but only on a truck that would see very heavy trail use.

To the uninitiated, what is the "this" you saw when you looked at the head?
Also, how much did they charge for the head work so I understand ballpark prices.
dome top pistons. apparantly the engine had been rebuilt at some point in its life. the cylinder head work was $225 on this one. the last inline 6 head (3fe) i had done was $255. not sure why this one was a bit cheaper.

Had very little time this evening but the frame is off the ground finally! Getting the shock hardware replated before the shocks go on. Also need to trim the ubolts a bit and install the bump stops. New tie rod ends need to be installed and anxiously awaiting a fj40 factory power steering gear box to arrive. Will most likely open the axles back up and drop in 3.70 third members next week.
This project is moving right along keep up good work

More parts from zinc plating. Got the throttle pedal and tire carrier latch done for my fj40. Oil pan back from powder coating and I snuck in some parts from my 40 as well. Tag bracket bump stop brackets and tail light guards.
Zinc plated valve cover nuts and shock hard ware bolts/studs washers. Bump stops installed, u bolts trimmed, new tie rods installed.
