Hi folks! After many requests, we're full speed ahead on the development of a system for the 80 (and simultaneously the 5th gen). The first system will be our flagship System Alpha, and there will be a single or double extra drawer module option, known as our Zulu drawers. The Bravo system will be developed if we get enough interest.

We are fairly new to the 80, and therefore would appreciate any input such as difference between model years, configurations, etc.

I will be updating this thread with any pertinent info as well as possibly starting a pre-order. These are hand built one at a time, so it will be first-come first-serve. More info to come...

Let's please keep this thread clean and on topic with questions and comments regarding this project, not a debate on whether you like drawer systems, etc. It's much easier for those searching for information to not have to wade through too much to find the answers they seek. A thread discussing the actual sale and pricing of these systems is located here:
TrekboxX for 80 Series

Thank you!

What's the price for the unit shown?

D,

Glad to see you pushing forward after the surgery. As always, great looking system.

Did I miss it or is there a small double drawer option for the RH side?

J
Thanks! Yes, there are single and double extra drawer modules for all Alpha systems. They're called Zulu drawers, and can be used for other applications as well.

The complete system for the 100 is nearly $5k. I'd imagine the 80 variant will be similar.

They look incredible and well built but it's hard to justify when I can get an entire extra cruiser for that price

Yes, prices will be similar. Again, let's please keep this to pertinent information, not a debate on what you feel these systems should cost. Thanks.

I think the cost is pertinent information if your trying to sell them. No debate here.

No question, I'd just like to avoid the slippery slope of endless comments about what else you could buy for the money. I've seen it muck up many threads. These systems aren't for everyone. People all have a different idea of what is valuable to them. I have no problem discussing cost.

Costs should be about identical to the 100 series systems. Roughly $4500 for the full kit.

Price is definitely pertinent information. That said, I have never handled or seen them in person so I was in no way insinuating they are not worth your price.

I neither took nor meant offense. As I said, I've just had many threads go down that road and essentially make it impossible for potential customers to find the info they are looking for. I totally understand my systems are possibly the highest priced ones out there. There are good reasons for it, though! :)

After having the Trekboxx system in our 100 for almost a year I can unequivocally say it's been a great addition.

I've used a variety of other drawers and cargo configurations, from ARB to AT to homemade, and the Trekboxx is my favorite.

The system is incredibly well thought out and executed. Everything fits perfectly and the install is clean and intuitive.
Ours hasn't moved at all after several thousand miles, much of which was over incredibly rough terrain.

Great kit.

Holy cow - beautiful drawer system!
I just love it when people set out to build top quality stuff!

Couldn't help yourself?

I'm stoked to see these become available for the 80. I've been waiting since Oct/2014!

My only request/suggestion would be to have a carpeted finish, similar to the outback drawer system. Is this a possibility?

Haha, he made my point exactly. Anyways, no and yes- these all have a Line-X finish. It is bombproof stuff, easy to clean, etc. However, if you wanted carpet on top of let's say the main box or in the drawer you sure could. Or maybe a padded mat or something that wouldn't need to be attached to the system. The carpet will wear out and get nasty long, long before the finish on the system. I'd hate to see a good system ruined with bad carpet. Give me a call and we can surely come up with a solution. Part of the benefit of the "most expensive cargo systems on the planet" is that you get top notch service! ;)

I will say this.. I got a chance to see a set of David's drawers a few weeks back on a friend of my SILs Jeep. I planned on building my own, but after seeing them in person, using them for a weekend and then doing the math for me to build them, I have to say they are worth every hard earned red cent in comparison to other offerings I've seen and used.

Once we get moved and reset-up I will definitely be in contact for at least one set. Not to mention some interest in one off customs to go with my new canopy rig builds.

Thanks for the great product,

Jason

Great looking set-up! My question is about sleeping in the back. With the fridge on the left, and 3 drawers on the right, how hard is it to get ready to sleep? Do them drawers come down easily, and is there something like a filler panel to go over fridge slot? I want to sleep 2 adults in the back.... is it possible? And if so..... is it a pita to prepare/stow? Thanks!

Very, very, pretty stuff.

As the sign at the race shop said, "Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?"

:)

To your variant question, the 80 cargo space is essentially the same for all years. There are a very few without third row seats and the wheel wells are a bit different in those as well as not having strikers in the floor. If you do not tie directly to the wheel wells or the striker mounts it shouldn't matter. On the other hand the number of vehicles without third row is so small it probably doesn't matter if you build only to suit third row equipped trucks.
