TRD or Magnuson supercharger?

I texted a guy that owns a supercharged one, hoping he’ll join the forum.
He owns an LC with 15.5 psi. It ran an 8.9xx in the quarter mile from a roll (60kph or so).

@HGB any insight?

I have found nobody stateside reliable who is able to tune my factory ecu. I could stand to gain a bit of performance if I could but as it stands I’m not worried about reliability one bit at factory boost.

This is a conservative tune and these motors can handle much more.

As for reliability in the field, any extra component is always an extra potential failure point- factory or not.

I HTH. There are also much more qualified people on the FI topic, so YMMV.

in that 2017 above, I noticed that the stock air intake had not been altered, nor had the stock exhaust. Why put a 7k upgrade on the LC without taking the extra steps? How hard is it to put the proper air intake and exhaust on a supercharged LC?
You do realize they make over 500hp/550lb-ft with the stock intake, exhaust, and a conservative tune right? And that stock intake will probably do a better job of actually keeping the contaminants out of the engine than nearly all aftermarket filter media types... stock exhaust will be better at resisting corrosion & cracking, and not drone on the freeway..

A well-designed stock intake often has plenty of extra flow capacity over stock horsepower, this isn’t the 80s anymore. I’d most likely run stock if I were doing this kit, personally.

If you get over 100 hp increase via a conservative tune, why bother with a supercharger?
I meant with the supercharger on a stock intake and parts, tuned conservatively.

If you want more that can be done on the dyno, or move to a smaller pulley.

We are back to tuning my 2009 LC with OVtuning. 6.4L with Darton sleeves, forged internals, ported heads, Killer Chiller, and rebuilt TRD SC (80k on SC at rebuild for good measure). 2650 sitting on the shelf.

Mmmm, stroker kit and sleeved. What compression did you go with? How is the OVTuning working out?

So much want. I need to buy a junk yard 5.7 and build it on these lines, tune on the dyno, then swap the whole thing over.

Just got the 200series back from the shop and tuner, oh my goodness, what a treat to drive.
