Transmission jack from harbor freight

I think this will be the last Q about Harbor Frieght for a while.

Usally tranny jacks can be upwards of over a grand. While I do the occationall tranny install for some one else, I will want one for my clutch install at the same time.

Has anyone had or use these two units from harbor freight before?

800 Lb. Capacity Transmission Jack

2000 Lb. Low-Profile Transmission Jack

Both are a steel compared to the compitition. If anyone has had experiance with these would like to know more.
 
The 1200lb-er looks kind of wimpy, but I think the 2000lb model will be OK.
 
I used the 800# one to R&R the NV4500 in my Chevy. Worked reasonably well. All depends on how often you are going to use it.

I posted in the thread KLR linked about my experiences with the HF version like that one. That was an absolute mess. But if I was only doing such things occasionally and with lighter transmissions than the NV4500, I think I'd build one like that.
 
I have the same jack with no issues at all, I also have a 1500 pound Duralast motorcyle jack that I payed a hunderd bucks for.......havent used it it.

Duralast also sells the paltform that goes on the jacks for faily cheap.

Check all duralst fluid before you start
 
I just ordered another one from another vendor. Okay get this, I am at the nw coner of the united states and when I looked at my ups tracking number, its coming out of north Carolina? The shipping rate is still the same. I saved a boat load of money of a regular shop tyranny jack then then one I purchased.
 
my jack has been delivered.

Now I just need to pick it up at the border. Thing is heavy at 100 bls. Its holding weight is 1,000 bls. Probebly when I dont use it, I will rent it out to trusted people or, do the tranny service my self which is a part of my income. What amazed me, was the jack was shipped from north carolina and arived in western washington on the day the company said it would arive.

Harbor freights Distributon Center is in NC. Just saying. lol




And just to show how I roll. I use this for my tranny removals and installs. Even did an a440 with T-case with it. It's all about counter weight. Lol.

I need to chuckle. I have that same tranny jack. Hardly use it, but glad it's around when I need it. Folks in the club have borrowed it multiple times. In fact, I need to find out where it's currently "stored."
 
I purchaced mine from northerntools. Same tool as harbor freight. As far as quality is, castors I rate as not smooth! The ears that stickup are sloppy. But over all, it pumps up high and has two axis tilt controls.
