Got a couple new tools. Newly used welder and a stationary notcher. @benc needed a couple of lift kits and I can never say no to a good welder........ HA! Ben I forgot to ask if you needed any table fixture plates... I have a few extras.

I have another notcher on order as well, but it's still 5 weeks away. Mitler Bro vari-speed with end mill cutter.

New welder will go over to the vehicle fab side of the shop with the lift and other benches.

Just got an LX470, going to have to cruise through the other 23 pages of this thread and see what offerings you have for them. Looks like business is booming Jason. Happy holidays.

M,

A few items that crossover. Safe holidays to you guys as well.

Considered being impatient and going with another brand, but decided against. I'll wait out #trailtailorvacay20182019. Really excited to see how these look!

First few sets of UCAs are at powder. I was in a hurry and didn't get a pic. I'll finish up the others tomorrow.

Sorry to even ask..
(Others feel free to chime in)

with the sealed ball joint there is no way to add grease (as in no grease zerk) - so is the idea of the sealed joint that nothing gets in and nothing gets out? And therefore no maintenance?

Sounds .. well, too easy! And I like easy.

I don't like a greasable joint that doesn't expel grease out of the joint. So the rubber boot on a greasable joint keeps accumulating old grease until it's full and the boot rips and then the entire unit is compromised. More is not better. A sealed unit will last up to 50K in most cases with a high quality unit that was assembled with quality grease. Think OEM ball joints, non-greasable and mine have 182K miles on them and are tight and in good shape.

I bought 9 different ball joints to look at the assy, fit, finish and tightness. Every greasable unit was loose or very tight. One felt like metal on metal right out of the box. I asked those 5 manufacturers about the looseness or tightness and they said to add grease... The looseness will tighten up with grease and the tightness will loosen with the addition of grease. The 4 sealed (non-greasable) were all very smooth and uniform feeling. I went with my specific model as it was designed for muscle car track racing as the design base and has great reviews from those owners and companies that run them. Plus liked the higher quality steel and assy process and moly grease used.

I tried to mimic the OEM design to the best of my ability and what the market has to offer.

@bozncsurf also you can re-grease the lower end (stem and exposed ball portion) of a sealed unit. Just remove the boot clip/ring, pulled down the boot, wipe out the old grease carefully and add a little new grease and re-attach the boot clip/ring. I'd guess there is only one or two pumps of grease in the boot area on my joints.

Thanks for the trade! I have been wanting to try out the tough dog kits for a while now and am excited to test them out. It was nice to finally meet you in person and all the insight you gave on the 200 was much appreciated!
Looks like you have some good things in the works and I look forward to adding more trail tailor gear to my builds!
