Hmmm... Who do I think bought this design from Jason?

Eenie-meanie-minie-mo...
Where’s this bumper gonna go?

CBI?
VPR?
MetalTech?

Bets? :)

VPR and Metaltech already have bumpers they offer, so I don't see why they would bother acquiring someone elses design .

CBI has done a custom bumper for the 200. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have just reused that design unless they didn't take sufficient measurements?

My guess would be Slee, since they don't offer a front (except ARB), but maybe CBI decided they liked the design? Or maybe there's someone else who hasn't done bumpers at all but is interested in getting into the aftermarket?

I did find it interesting/coincidental that metal tech posted about their new front bumper right after this news came out.

I'm no business wizard, but sometimes companies buy designs like this just to kill the competition.

Yeah that’s be my guess. It’s by far the best looking front out there, and the functionality also solid. Only part I found odd with that is the short 12 month non compete, what’s the point of that if he could just go and make a new one a year from now

There's a lot of conjecture about what might happen, but all I know is these great bumpers are now UNOBTANIUM - and that sucks.

They're not unobtainium until 5/30

I mention VPR because I think they need the most help strength wise. :) CBI bc they stopped offering a 200 front.

yeah before this thread the TJM was my dream option....now I'm not so excited about it

I would still highly recommend the T13. I have now slammed it so many times under my 8000lb+ rig and it is solid as stone.

Im probably about a year off on the bumper purchase, already spent too much this spring on the 200. I figure I'll just save up and see whats available at that time. Trail tailor V3, or TJM. I still like the T13 a lot (Is Slee the only way to get them?).....way better than the ARB or others, I was just heavily influenced of the 41 pages of this thread and the crazy high level of Jason's quality made me want this one more. I value your recommendation on the TJM i know you have given it some solid testing all over.

I dealt directly with TJM for my suspension and they were great to deal with.
This is the guy I dealt with.

All,

After this week of bumper inquiries and orders I am NO LONGER accepting any further BUMPER orders. I have 2 people that I have been talking with for a bit of time and will still allow them to order (if before 5-30-18) but that's it.

Thank you all for your continued support on the bumpers for the past 5 years. Look forward to working with you all on other cruiser items I will be developing moving forward.

Thank you,

Jason

That's "UNOBTAINIUM" in my book - do you know something the owner of the company doesn't?

Inquiring minds need to know.

I thought you were kidding about selling, whoa. My wife would never go for it, im almost paid off on mine. Man thats a more than fair deal with everything you've put into that. Somebody should by this now. How'd you like the 285/75r17 vs 285/70r17? No re-gearing needed for this?

Someone should definitely buy it, now.

I never had 70 series tires. That said, the 285/75r17 is the perfect tire size for a 200.

I have 285/70r17 KO2's on my Rock warriors.........as i thought this was the only size that fit. I have 2" lift, factory bumper. Any trimming, spacers or modifications to get 75's to fit? I thought I'd read somewhere you have to go to the skinnier 275/75r17 to fit the taller 75's.

I'm running the 285/75/17 on my RW's, but have 1.25" spacers, and had to trim a little bit plastic from the front of the rocker panels, the metal tab that the panel attaches to, and remove the front little mud flaps in front of the tires. Nothing too major, and I agree with TonyP, that tire size is the sweet spot for 200's IMO.

No re-gearing needed at that size right? interesting, my KO2's are pretty new but maybe next time around i go that route. thanks

They are basically 34” inch tires...at least in Nitto. My 35’s are more like 34’s too, and with my heavy rig, re-gearing is only waiting on $$. Tony has already bought gears/lockers, but hadn’t had time to install before Moab.

If you don’t Run heavy, a true 34” isn’t bad with stock gears...but remember that when many buy “34’s”...they aren’t actually that y’all on vehicle. More like 32.5-33”...so the re-gear question is more complicated that simply wheel size indicators.

@DPA200 I've got 5 285/75/17 toyo ATII with varying tread depth. Make you a hell of a deal if you want to give them a try.
