You just gotta work through the issues man. You'll get through the it, mine is being the same way right now.

If no joy, have the hose company make one, or use SS braided hose and fittings and make it yourself.
Going to check the dealership first and see what a new one cost. If it is outrageous, I'll look into getting one made.

Is that a fatigue crack just from being bent to accommodate proper positioning?
It was the original line, had it on the motor before putting it in the 60. Just think it was an old line.

I use a motorcycle brake line, banjo on both ends and an endless selection of lengths/fittings...
Good idea sir.

Not much going on with the build. Got the line for turbo taken care of, there is a used Isuzu parts guy about four hours from here that had the line. Got the front drive shaft made out of a used one from a friend. Cost around $42 to get it made. Used the old DC joint and the original pumpkin u-joint. Also had to have a 1.250" spacer on the tcase output shaft to clear the trans crossmember. Got my tuffy console today. Will post pictures of the updates tomorrow.

Has anyone used the TSM transfer case parking brake on a 60?

My experience with it was on a 40 and it wouldn't hold it at even a slight grade. Just not enough leverage in the design.
And you 60 weighs a LOT more then this 40 does.

What's wrong with your axle parking brake?

There must have been something wrong with that specific install then. When Tinker worked with TSM to develop the transfer case e-brake kits for the 60s, he made sure that they were set up to hold the truck on a hill. Check this thread out:

TSM Split Tcase Disc Brake Prototype #2

In my experience, the TSM transfer e-brake kits work well, not as well as the stock drum setup, but well none-the-less.

Interesting. Ryan still didn't answer what was wrong with his existing e-brake though! :flipoff2:

I changed the rear to disc brake, no more parking brake. I need one to ride in any type of TLCA sanctioned event.

Have you considered a "line-Loc" type system?

That won't pass TLCA tech inspection AFAIK. They look for a mechanical parking brake.

Would it be practical to do a TSM brake and a line lock?

They have different uses. I have used a line lock in addition to the emergency brake to make sure the truck stayed put, but I prefer to use them to lock one axle so I can pivot around it when offroading.

FWIW I've got a line lock and an emergency brake in the rear of my truck.

Thanks Johnny. It was brought up in the TSM thread of using an 80 axle due to it having disc/e-brake. Then I would need to sell off my axle to do this and buy another ARB locker for the rear. I like the idea of the TSM, price is a little high, but this is due to someone doing the R&D. I'm torn on what to do, lol

You don't need to buy another ARB! You could easily buy an 80 rear axle and put your ARB diff in and sell the parts you've got left over. Although you'd then have to deal with the extra width.

TSM is a perfectly fine way to go and it'd be less work than swapping axles.

I do ..

80 rear is an awesome upgrade in a 60. You can re-use your existing diff.
Just put 2" spacers up front to account for the wider rear, you'll appreciate the extra width with the SOA height.

Thanks again Johnny for your input. I like less work at this stage of my build.

Tapage, which version of the TSM breaking system did you use?

Good idea Matt. Maybe down the road I will upgrade. Right now I don't want to spend a ton of money switching out axles. Need to finish with where I am at and wheel her really good

Lot of folks never bed in their ebrake.
I find if I bring the vehicle up to speed and drag it down to 10mph or so a few times when I replace brake parts the pads/shooes bed in to the rotors/drums.
Same process goes for the ebrake.
