Doug, do you see any reason I couldn't put the power steering reservoir on the drivers side fender well?

No as long as it higher than the pump

Feels like I'm spinning my wheels on the build right now. Have got a few things done. Got my clutch lines finished up and bled the system. Got my new Denso AC condenser put in today. Painted the grill and headlight surrounds. Got some jute to go under the molded carpet kit I got from Reevesci. Next is finish up the powering steering lines, ac lines, and some interior items and then a test drive. Here are a few pictures.

Got the power steering cooler mounted today, one of the return lines, and the reservoir mounted. Finished up the shut down cable. Did some odds and ends to get it ready to move under its own power. Hopefully in the next week.

Too much trouble to take it all apart. Just glad to get it done. How's your ride coming along Matt?

Don't do what I did, check to make sure the hood will closes with the PS reservoir mounted there. I use the stock hood springs and had to space my reservoir towards the engine to clear.

Hard to tell from the picture exactly where yours is mounted.

Looking good.

Thanks Doug. I'll check next week on the hood closure. Going to panel bond the inner hood back to the outer portion of the hood first, then install.

Got a little done this morning. Last PS line in and ready for fluid. She got some new eyes installed. Also got the FJ62 grab handle bolted in.

A little set back today. Put antifreeze in, power steering fluid, and a new postive cable from the battery to the starter. The solenoid would spin but not engage the fly wheel. Got the ground from the battery going to frame. While trying to start it like this, the positive and negative cables would get hot. I also noticed that where the fender was touching the shock tower would arc. Turned the crank by hand, enough that it went thru a full compression strock. Tried starting again, cranked right over and started up. Pulled the new kill handle and it died. Now the solenoid is stuck out and it seems like the battery is drained. Will hardly turn over. Any ideas?

Sounds like the relay/solenoid is acting up, that could drain battery. What else is hooked up?
I would also ground engine to frame and battery, plus several body grounds.
Do you only have the frame grounded?

DO NOT BOND IT TIGHT.

It is supposed to be flexibly bonded, and not touching each other.

I bonded mine tight. I haven't decided if I screwed up the hood badly or not yet.

Dan

Factory Isuzu has a ground from battery to frame, body, engine and starter. You can not have too many grounds. Isuzu has 2 batteries stock, which I also have.

Are you using a Ford starter relay between the stock Toyota key signal wire? The Isuzu needs more amps than the 2F, which will burn up the key switch contacts.

I bonded my hood many years ago with a 3M body sealer. It made the hood sound really solid, and no issues. I filled most of the voids between the hood skin and inner structure.

The only ground is from the battery to the frame. What does the relay/solenoid look like?

Doug, I only have a ground from the battery to the frame and a positive from the battery to the starter. I'm using all of the factory Toyota wiring. I'll take a picture of what I have and how its wired. Thanks for the heads up on the hood.

I used an entire tube of PL Urethane adhesive to bond the inner and outer hood pieces, and while it cured, I closed the hood onto a 2x4, to put weight on the inner hood and hold it (fairly) tight to the outer hood. Worked great, and greatly stiffened the hood.
