Very nice! Wish I had the scratch to paint mine....

@SeaDrifter --- cool. I am glad you had a chance to check out his shop. I am actually having them do another cut, clear and cut on the rig as there were a few spots George and I thought weren't perfect yet. So the rig with be there another week or so.

Can I ask what this cost? Did you supply the Depo housings?

I went high end with my set up. I purchased the depo headlights and sent them to Rich. He provided the labor and parts. Cost was $1k not including the depos.
You can save money by using other projectors.

Rig is coming along well at Premier AutoSports.
5 coats of clear were laid down and then we started the cut with 600 grit paper and brought it all the way back up using higher grits. Today we are almost done with buffing. George actually got the 3M vendor tech to come down and assist with the buffing and paint polishing using some of the new 3M tools. Check out the level of reflections in the Sage paint :)

What can you tell us about the window area matte black paint?

My 80 had been opened/ tried to open - with a 'slim jim' prior to my buying it some 13-14 yrs ago -- I just sprayed satin to cover the chipping & rubbing, but nothing I've done a sprayout card with has the right sheen.

It's almost closer to that paint that you do a wall to make a chalkboard - nothing matches the sheen from the OTR paints.

Can you ask him what he's using, if you can?

For the black trim- I think we used a custom color match and applied a flattening agent that dulls the clear coat

Few people take care of that paint, They wash but seldom wax, there Is oxidation, mildly ox. but still dull. Use 3-M swirl mark remover, (B bottle) and rub It good by hand and It will come back to gloss. I did this to my 95 and 97 they cleaned up like new. Good Luck.!
