My first major project of 2023 was the 1967 FJ45 LPB I did for
@Sweet Water ’s dad. While Mike was out looking at the 45 at
@OGBeno ‘s place Johnny sold them on this 2 for 1 package. I had already made many commitments for this year so I could not work on these two back to back but now the shop is open to take this fella in for some love.

The Whitey 40. Doctor got doctored on this one. It looks awesome but it was all wrong. I gave it the full meal deal and now it's a perfect around town truck
He spent a bunch of money on it but it's a great driving 40 now.

This one just happened into my life last week.
I was about to start in on a 1976 FJ40 to build up and sell until my next scheduled project showed up.
The Whitey Forty has been around Jackson for about 12 years. The owner says it as restored to its current condition by Rocky Mountain Cruisers about 5-6 years before he bought it out of SLC.
He contacted me in reference of the guy I built Powda Blue for and just wanted me to tell me what I thought of the truck and what I would do to make it more reliable and fun to drive

This truck made two trips here. One to get it going with a s*** ton of OEM parts the owner had collected with an F motor and 3 on the tree to the next trip to get a 4 speed, 3.70s and a Mosley motor.
This is a great read about a superb FJ40
Brendan has since purchased 3 Saudi Cruisers from me.

This was a crazy one. I talked my buddy Bossman into selling me this truck so I could fix it and sell it.
I did.
I delivered it to Colorado and then the Colorado guy traded it for a HZJ73 I built for another buddy of mine

12 years ago I got my first peek at this original condition FJ40 at
@Bossman ‘s secret lair deep in the pines in south Arkansas. I’m not sure how long it had been there but it was long enough to collect a bit of dust and I fell in love.
Over the years I’ve told Bossman how much I’d like to polish this turd bit and finally on Friday night under the gazebo at the Cruiser Crawl he relented.
Mind you, I had not seen it in 12 years and I can barely remember what I did 12 days ago but I knew I wanted to get my mitts on it
This FJ40 was purchased new in Monroe Louisiana...

I agreed to work on this FJ40 with no photos. Drove to the top of a mountain in North Carolina just a couple of months after it was wiped out by a hurricane to meet the owner of this gem
I almost bailed on him until he told me I could s*** can all they awful things about it and build it right.
Im so glad I did. This thing turned out amazing.

Way back in December or January I was contacted by a fella that had a 40 he bought sight unseen (strike 1) and wanted to get me to get it drivable for him.
I was headed his direction in North Carolina to drop off Moe Green in Asheville so I figured I would just swing up through Beech Mountain and grab it.
I also needed to drop off my 45 at Rocket City for a quick project so I loaded up the gooseneck and headed north

This 1969 FJ40 has like 20,000 original miles. The owners grandfather bought it new. I helped him put a 4 speed in it years ago and he called me and said it's sat since then and would I get it right.
A couple of trips later and it's perfect.

Many many months ago, when I was still employed as a HTPRS, JTU contacted me about bringing his 40 over for a three hour tour of the carport. AFI install, rear disc brakes, a weekend or three on the side, in & out.

Small world story on Higgens.
Way back when I got Powda Blue out of Texas the owner of this truck waved me down in a parking lot in east Texas and we talked cruisers.
He contacted me years later to get his 40 running. It needed everything but it's perfect now.

A few years ago I was in a hotel parking lot hauling
Powda Blue back from Houston. Bryan and his girlfriend swung by and we talked about Cruisers. He apparently had a pile of them and he wanted me to possibly work on one in the future.
Fast forward to last month and I realized I was going to have a gap in my projects due to some bad shipping I have going on out of Saudi Arabia so I posted on my @89nolder page on Instagram that I needed a project.
Bryan jumped in line and we finally got our schedules together on Sunday and he dropped it off.
He's got all kind of toys over...

Wesley contacted me a few months back to set up some spa time for his 40 here at the shop.
We've conversed for years on Mud so I knew he's been into 40s for a long time.
We came up with a plan and he dropped it off yeaterday.
First things first, this is by far the nicest FJ40 thats ever been dropped off here. Lockwood's 45 red SWB would be the nicest 40 series but as for 40s, this one wins.
