Ha, sorry- should have used the quote function!

I mean, we are sorta neighbors in the same county...

Maybe we can have a LA 200 meetup that's socially distanced- we can use Zoom- park our cars 30 feet apart, windows up, recirculate on? :) :) :)

You'll need written proof you've fixed your recirculation door that a dealer most certainly broke.
Mine seems broken too, I wonder if it's covered under my warranty!

Lmao! Love this idea.

Is Zoom free? I use Discord to talk/do live voice chat with my gaming guild from all over the world when I was gaming, and now I use it to turn my phone/laptop into a poor mans Ham Radio xD. Just need cell/any internet signal for it to work. Mud needs it’s own discord/voice channel where anyone can come in and chat/listen to each other. It will be good for communicating on the trails where not everyone has a ham radio to listen in/participate in both text and voice. @Romer do we have anything like that?

Love the idea, but my experience at least in CO is that it's pretty rare to have cell signal, let alone data on a trail. Maybe I need to get one of those cell boosters installed! :)

Could anybody chime in on whether the 18” x 8” 100 series wheels will fit on the LX570? My brother has an extra set laying around, and if they fit it would save me from having to purchase off-road rims. He’s a few hours away so I can’t just pop over for a test fit.

I believe they are p/n 69479A, photo below.
I have looked at this thread:
100 vs 200 wheel bolt pattern

...and this one:
OEM Wheel Weights

...but it’s still a little inconclusive from what I’ve read. Bolt pattern matches, and I assume the bore’s the same. I am hoping to avoid spacers, so I’d like to determine if they’ll fit around the 200 series brakes without any modification.

Thanks for any input!

I have those exact wheels on my LX570 in hyper silver and they look great! But they won’t fit on the front without some spacers. The calipers will rub against the inside of the spokes. From what I remember, you would need to push out the wheels at least 1/4” for them to clear, but the thinnest spacer I could find was 3/4”. Once you put a spacer in the front you should be good to go. The rears fit fine with no issues.

Thanks! I got 1.25” Spidertrax on all 4 corners, so hopefully I’ll be in the clear. Appreciate the input!

I finally got the LC wheels finished up and installed last night- just in time to keep sitting around not driving anywhere! What a difference spacers/wheels/tires make. Couldn't resist a shameless pic...

A tire tread/wheel rotation question - do the rear tires wear faster than the fronts?

PO said all new tires were installed about 2 years ago, and I have no reason to suspect otherwise. When I removed the stock wheels to install the wheels in the photos above, I did not note which corner each wheel came from- I just piled them up out of the way. Now that I have had time to look at them I can see that two of the tires have noticeably less wear than the other two. In the photo below, the tire on the right is one of the two with more tread. The tire on the left, and the one on the bottom, have less. If and when I reinstall these for daily use, how should I reinstall these to help even out the wear between the 4 of them? More tread in the rear is my assumption, but would like to confirm. Thanks!

On RWD cars, rear tires wear out faster. On FWD cards, front tires wear out faster.

On AWD vehicles, I believe power is split approximately 30/70 (front/back), so it would make sense for the rears to wear out faster, but the difference should not be quite as dramatic as on FWD/RWD vehicles.

Maybe the tires were never rotated, and/or alignment is off?

Thanks for the reply. The difference does seem more than I would have expected, which is what gave me pause. I'm actually going to have these tires removed and installed on these wheels, so I'll be starting with a fresh balance and alignment at that point.

Balding in the front, chunky in the back- check!

Hey all, any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong when trying to pair a bluetooth phone with my 2008 LX570? The manual says to push the INFO button, and then proceed through the "Phone" icon to pair it. But when I push the INFO button, my screen is quite a bit more limited than the screen shown in my manual, and there is no Phone icon. This is with the engine on/off, and in Park. Bluetooth on phone is turned on. My steering wheel has the phone hook on and off buttons, as well as the voice command button, which I assume are related to phones?

Thanks!

What is the build date of your LX? What is the chance that it does not have bluetooth? Is this a US spec vehicle? A 2008 will not have music streaming via bluetooth until the 2011MY without an adapter. US-spec vehicles should have basic phone connectivity since 2007 but it may have actually been an option. Does your vehicle have the phone buttons on the steering wheel?

Thanks for the reply. Production date is 12/2007. When I look up the specs on the Lexus VIN page, it mentions Bluetooth Technology, and yes, it has the phone buttons on the steering wheel.

I've had this happen on a prior car and it ended up being a dead bluetooth module. Is there a fuse for this?
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it. Makes sense! There are no codes when I use my code reader, and I'm looking into how to read the codes through the display screen now. Will report back.

You’re likely kidding about the tires going on the front being bald. I like to put my best tires in the front.

YMMV but in my experience, the front tires on my series 100 wear faster than the rear. Yes, the rear may do more of the “pushing” during typical driving but wear depends on how you drive. For example, aggressive cornering or adherence to your lane in curvy roads subjects the fronts to more wear. So does braking. Whether a vehicle is FWD or RWD or 4WD, a lot more of the stopping force is accomplished via the front brakes. This is why the front calipers are larger than the rear. This also means that the front tires are doing more of the stopping. It all boils down to how one drives.

By the way, great looking ride, with either set of wheels. Enjoy!

On mine it is basic phone connection, no music streaming. Also 2008 with nav.

Info -> Phone -> Settings -> Bluetooth -> Add Phone. Assuming your phone is in Bluetooth pairing mode/Bluetooth is on, it should detect it.

You are definitely missing the phone icon after info.

I know Crutchfield used to sell a replacement Bluetooth module for the LC / LX that would give both phone connectivity and music streaming. May be worth considering if your Bluetooth module is bad.
