Do you know if this boot kit (671-8184) good for a 2006 LX? I've searched on denso products, and this part number only fits 2007 cruiser and LX. I'm not sure what to believe..
Actually fits 1998-2015 Toyota & Lexus vehicles...

Yes Denso boot kit 671-8184, is good for all years.

Does anyone know what brand of spark plugs were used for 2006 Lexus LX 470 at the Toyota plant - Denso or NGK? I do not know if the spark plugs were ever replaced on my vehicle and when I removed one of them it was NGK brand. It says "Japan" on the round metal part.

Can one tell if this is the original spark plug for 276,000 km or 171,500 miles? They are good for 192,000 km according to the maintenance schedule. As I could tell based on carbon deposits and sludge on the threads they might be installed some years ago.

@UGN I always use the Denso SK20R11 plugs, but I believe NGK were also used as OEM plugs.

I just replaced all spark plugs (272k) - I purchased it ('99 LC ) at 225k so I'm not sure when the plugs were last replaced - but most of them were not snug when I went to remove them. I came here to check on it - and now I know why! Thanks!

I can also confirm this...

Checked my plugs ~25k after installing them and 3 of 8 were not snugged down. 1 had a little oil on it. Snugged them all back down and set a reminder in my maintenance log to check them again after 15k.

Popped in a set of Denso TTs today. Torqued to 15ft-lbf with a bit of anti seize (as I have always done on my cars). That’s about 18-19ft-lbf with nothing on the threads. Will report back in the future.

But man those TTs are great! Thanks for the recommendation. Immediately smoother and quieter. Will take some longer drives to see what the power feels like and fuel mileage does.

Just wanted to push this thread to the top again so everyone is aware. I replaced my plugs last night and I was able to remove every single plug just by turning the socket by hand. One plug was loose enough to where there was clearly carbon all over the rear of the plug and coil packs from blow by because the plug was so loose. All new plugs torqued back to spec.

I’m not sure if they worked themselves loose over time, or it was shady work on the part of the PO, but it’s a data point.

How have these TTs been working out for you? About to do valve cover gaskets after my starter job on my '02 LX, so going to replace plugs as well. Did you inspect/regap to 1.1MM? I read earlier from @2001LC that he recommends to not gap them, but to make sure they're aligned so i'm curious on your approach. Thanks

They're great. Truck still seems smoother from idle all the way through the power band. I've only gone on short city drives so I can't really comment on MPG (I also haven't owned it long enough for a legit comparison, haha).

I did not regap. All mine had the optimal tip-to-tip efficiency...Silicon Valley fans will get that sad joke.

haha thank you for the reply. I see they're gapped to 1.0M vs 1.1MM, so that's probably good enough. Going to pick up a set.

I am running Denso TTs as well, I would report similar results, idle is smooth. I did re-gap to get the plugs exactly to spec.

Thanks for another data point. Was just up on Huron, OH over the weekend. Not too far from Cleveland.

Gap on new spark plugs are set to 1.1mm. Exception is the TT Denso spark plugs which are set to 1.0mm gap.

Toyota states very clearly in the FSM: DO Not gap used plugs" If gap on used plugs, has increased to 1.2mm of more, change them out.

Yep i agree. My TT's arrive on Friday and I will not be gapping them to 1.1...will leave at 1.0 since DENSO recommends to not gap them. I'll just make sure they're aligned

Check and adjust gap on new plugs, always. I was finding 1 in 4 need gap adjusted. But lately they've been spot on. But always check ;)

#7 (driver side near fire wall) spark plug is the one everyone complains is a PITA. It's not bad if you put a short 3" extension topped with a universal (swivel) connected to your 3/8" breaker bar or ratchet. The combo gives me the correct height, with the universal sticking up just above top of head cover so I can attach my breaker bar.

How do you remove the coil from this spark plug? I have loosed the A/C line that is right above the coil but still cannot remove it. If I pull it straight I hit this A/C line and there is not enough length to remove it completely without breaking it. I tried to remove it several times but no luck 😥

Turn the coil about 180 degrees.

A few I've seen need the line forced just a bit. Those likely have been in accident and frame bent, or the line was pushed inward a bit. But they will flex just enough to pull out coil.
