Phase 2 of The Texas Land Crusher Build is complete!

My order from Bump it Off-road arrived a couple weeks ago. Mike did a stellar job with my custom step sliders and rear bumper. It was built to accommodate my 1” Body Lift. Added an adjustable tire carrier and ladder to bumper. Also ordered a front diff drop and front skid plate from BIOR.

Many thanks to Duc Nguyen at Duggy’s Garage in Houston for a great install. Had Duc upgrade my rear OME 2860 springs to OME 2863 springs to accommodate for the extra weight with this new bumper.

Official BEAST mode!

My 5k oil change rountine (currently at 210k). Mobil 1 5W-30 Synthetic, Toyota Oil Filter, Toyota Oil Plug Gasket, BG 44k fuel treatment, BG EPR, BG MOA. Greased the zerks with Valvoline Synthetic Moly. Clean and lube sunroof tracks.

My radiator was replaced by Toyota at 193k. However they did not replace the radiator cap. Ordered a new OEM cap.

Also gas cap was original to my records. Swapped the old one out for a new OEM gas cap.

Got tired of looking at the weak incandescent lighting on my dash panel and decided for an updated LED bulb swap. Used @anthonycds write up for this project.

LED instrument panel/gauge cluster

Outstanding results. Next I plan to upgrade the bulbs to LED in my ac controls and ones by the shifter. Project goal is complete interior incandescent bulb conversion to LED.

This may be your most rewarding upgrade / mod as you’ll appreciate it every time you drive.

CVT Tent installed this weekend. Went with the Mt. Shasta Stargazer 2+person model. Looking forward to many nights ahead outdoors.

Also got my Hi-Lift jack mounted on the BIOR bumper.

She looks complete!

How are the ride characteristics with the rtt?

What size on the hi lift - 48” or 60”

Such a clean 100

Thanks. Haven’t had a chance to get it on the highway yet. Interested to see myself and also see how my mpg’s are impacted.

Went with 48” jack. 60” is a little overkill in my opinion. Plus 60 sticks way up on the vehicle.

Great looking rig. I love my BIOR rear bumper also!

Still working through getting rid of halogen bulbs. Got a few bulbs converted to LED tonight on the front Depo 1 piece lights. The picture doesn’t do it justice. Major improvement.

Going to change out the low and high beams to LED soon. Those halogen bulbs are so bad...

Looks good

I replaced my low beams in my depo’s with led Lasfit (middle model) super happy

The depo’s rubber bulb cap on the back of the housing made for a much easier install than the factory hard plastic cap

Next on the list are high beams but as they are also my running lights the yellow halogen may be better for others to see me

Bought the parts to fit a cabin air filter in my cruiser. When I removed the glovebox I was surprised to find my cruiser was already set up from the factory for a cabin air filter (should of checked first, just assumed no since I have a 1999). Opened the cover and no filter was present. Put in the new cabin air filters and also changed out the old glovebox bulb to a new LED bulb. Switched out the ash tray bulb and vanity light bulbs to LED bulbs as well. Almost done with switching all my interior bulbs to LED.

How do you replace the ashtray light. I looked at it briefly but could not figure it out...

How do you replace the ashtray light. I looked at it briefly but could not figure it out...

Matty-remove the ash tray and pull trim around ashtray from the top. That trim piece is held in at clips at the top. I couldn’t get the bottom to release fully (didn’t try to hard because I didn’t want to break anything). Got the top pulled back just enough to get to the bulb. When you pull back the top you will see a small black wiring sleeve going to the bulb just above the ash tray housing. Just pull back on the wire and the bulb housing pops out (no twisting out required). Pull on the bulb and it pops right out of the housing. Hope this helps.

It does! Thank you!

Front wheel bearing kits arrived today from Cruiser Outfitters. Thanks Chris for help with my order.

Using Chevron Ultra Duty EP2 Grease for this job.
