Today I updated the bulbs in my 1 piece Depo headlights.

For low beams I installed the Morimoto HID’s with35w Ballast. Going to need an adjustment, but major improvement over the stock halogen bulbs.

High beams I went with the German Flosser 80w halogens. Don’t use the high beams hardly ever, so went this less expensive route for now. These were rated best high beam halogen bulb by bulbfacts.com.

Went with LED’s in the parking lights and turn signals. Went with the LASFIT LED for the turn signal bulbs with the integrated Canbus. These don’t hyperflash or require you to splice in a load resistor to factory wiring.

Also cleaned up some wiring with a Blue Sea terminal mount kit.

Will post up some before and after pics later.

Santa brought me a new receiver for Christmas. Got the Sony XAV-1000 from Crutchfield. For $275 bucks it comes with Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth with microphone, wireless remote, Sirius XM Ready, and back up camera ready.

Got it installed today and really happy with this unit.

While I was switching out the radio, I replaced the halogen bulbs with LED bulbs from superbrightleds.com

Can you post a review of how the receiver does in the sun? My JVC gets washed out easily and I have been eyeing that Sony but I am afraid to buy it if it has the same problems. Merry Xmas

Finished up my my interior LED overhaul today switching out my shifter light, pwr/2nd switch light, and my driver/passenger seat heater switch lights. For my interior lights I used PFran’s LED interior kit. All other LED’s I used superbrightled.com.

Also my cover on my cup holder would not remain shut. I found a thin little spring (see pic) that had popped out. Put back in place and working again.

Also found aftermarket rubber cup holder inserts for 2014-2017 Tundra (Red Hound Auto) on Amazon that fit great in my cup holder with lid closing.

Picked up a Sacgauge 2 as well. Got everything programmed to monitor coolant temp, trans temp, IA, and VLTS.

Lastly, my local Costco had a 2 pack of Scosche smart phone holders for $29 bucks. Put one in my 100 series and the other in my 200 series. Works great so far, but looking to see how it does off-road.

Marathon Seat Covers installed for my 1st and 2nd row. Went with Dark Tan Color in Cordura Nylon. Marathon is USA made in Montana.

Quality and fit is very good. Stands up to water/dirt well. Easy to wipe off and clean. Will keep my factory leather preserved for years to come.

Well the screen isn’t very bright in sunlight, especially if you wear polarized sunglasses.

Only other complaint is the unit only turns completely off when you shut off the ignition and remove the key. There is no button or feature on unit to turn radio fully off.

Did you notice any seat of the pants difference after the bearing replacement?
Hi Bonzncsurf-Noticed a difference smoothing out around 70-75 mph. Previously had a slight vibration here.

New Year Phase 3 Build. Locker for the front diff and 4.88 gears!

Took advantage of the year end special Georg at Cruiser Brothers was running for Front Harrop E-Locker. Locker and OEM switch arrived this week.

Next purchase will be Nitro 4.88 gears kit.

Also plan to change front diff bushings as well with this project.

My driver door lock actuator is at the end of its life. Ordered a new Aisin actuator from Rock Auto and it arrived today. Hoping to get this installed in the next couple of weeks.

Eventually I plan to replace the others as well in the future.

NHouston- Incredible! You've basically created a new LC! I have the same for 2000. Done a few things but mostly stock. I'll post on it eventually. Anyway- all of my door locks basically quit working in the summer. Is that what was happening to you? Is it an actuator replacement issue? Thanks!

If you locks are sticking when you lock/unlock, then yes it is probably your door lock actuator. They have little motors in them that wear out over time. Aisin makes the OEM actuators. This is the best quality for the best price in my opinion. If you search the forum, some have been successful in opening up the clam shells in these actuators and replacing the little motors for under $20 bucks. If you have the time and patience you may want to go this route. I got mine for $118 on Rock Auto. I will replace and hopefully not have to worry about it for another 20 years!
