So a bit of an update,

I upped the fuel about 1 full revolution in increments of 1/3's (in to allow more fuel) and upped the max boost to right at 22PSI. The truck feels a lot more nimble and responsive. It will get warm (900-1000F) when accelerating up a hill on the highway under steady to heavy acceleration but seems to taper off of the near 1000F mark back to about 850 or so. Flat road is usually about 6-750F. I haven't yet tried to drive it up I-70 west of Denver to see how it responds in higher elevations. It seems to have the same (if not a little better) fuel mileage but I need to take a nice road trip to confirm. Still hitting 21+MPG with 315's and Factory 3:70 gears.

I did notice that on a few cooler/colder mornings, I seem to have hit the fuel cut on full acceleration while playing with it on my way to work. Maybe I need to add more tension to the spring? I dunno but I will give that a go. It only happened a couple times and I haven't been able to make it happen again ( I haven't tried either though).

I will report back more information after I have a few tanks through it. Last tank was 451 miles without the sub tank (which is pretty standard ever since my conversion in 2009). Never could've hit that with a 1FZF-E even with a super strong tailwind. :)

Have you checked with paint pen markings how far your pin is moving? Both these statements seem to support you getting into fuel cut. If that's confirmed, adding spring pressure will limit the travel to correct it.

@mudgudgeon , Yep, pre turbo. I figured I have plenty of room before I need to worry but the true test will be driving it up a 10-11000 foot high pass to see how it reacts.

@IanB , I removed the pin and it has follower marks down to the lowest part of the fuel ramp. Or really dang close at a glance.

I’ll continue to monitor it.

A friend loaned me his timing tool which I’m planning on doing next weekend. I plan to set the IP timing to the high limit if it isn’t set there already.

Nice, I was wondering just the other day where you were at with timing it, sounds like you're on the right track with the pump/fueling/boost

I'm jealous of everyone's fuel mileage. Lately, I've been down to 17mpg or so. (winter fuel?) I typically drive at 75-85 mph, in order to not get run over on I93 out here. Do any of you guys have mileage numbers at those speeds?

Thanks for the info!

If I drive at 120kph (75ish?), I get around 14l/100km (15mpgish).

Same here! Always around 14, with AC one litre more.

I'm pretty sure I would get about 17mpg at 75mph.

I guess I just enjoy getting passed too much on the freeway out here (I-5) to ever want to drive that fast. I don't like it or the feeling that I'm rushing everywhere. I'm sure my MPG would be way down too like others have stated

Thanks for the replies, you guys. Sounds like I just drive too fast to break 20mpg and I shouldn't worry if I get MPGs even in the low 16s or high 15s.

Speed is what does it - with Gturbo, pump, airbox etc and a decent tune, if I did 105 km/h or less I got 13 litres per 100, if I did 120 I got 15-16 - H151, 285s, 4.1 diffs.

I have one. Material is too soft. I guess it's "just" stainless steel. I upgraded to a KOC one out of Japan which is made out of better material and the profile is a tad bit wilder ;)
I should have a picture somewhere of the stock, euro4x4 and KOC pin.

If anyone has a spare or damaged injection pump in the UK I could buy I would gladly look into adding options to my product range for you guys?
Would be interesting to draw direct comparisons against the Cummins/Bosch pumps I am more accustomed to!

Go to your local injection shop and ask for the sleeve that the boost pin goes to from a Bosch setup and run it so you can use aftermarket rover and Cummins pins.

Can the Bosch sleeve be installed with the pump on the engine? Or is that the kind of thing you have modded when you have it rebuilt?
