I love the attention to detail this Pig is getting!!!
Thank you! The first step in s admitting
You have a problem…my problem is I cannot do less when more is right there in front of me and easily attainable.

The parking brake cable was not moving so I took the driveshaft down to replace the parking brake shoes and hardware… the rear end also had a small passenger side axle leak. I ordered a complete axle service kit and got after it.

All new bearings, races and seals. Ready to start assembling afte the backing plates get the business.

I have never considered the inside of a valve cover to be cruiser porn…before! But having seen the inside of several hundred VCs over the last four decades, I can confirm the Supreme Court’s definition of pornography: I know it when I see it!

I don’t care if it’s a soft info-mercial for your business. That sir, is damn sexy. 😊

And more…
The parking brake cable was locked up so I found one of those from BTB in Nevada. Seemed to be the only place that offered it? SOR shoes and hardware. All new intake and exhaust valves in the head with some minor welding on the mating surface of the intake and exhaust manifolds due to long term leak eroding the casting.
Also, only seems right to break the gauge cluster down and give it the same treatment as the speedo when I swapped from KPH to MPH. May need to dig into diagram for wiring issues. I have a replacement round bullet connector and pins coming from @ToyotaMatt . He seems to be a regular on the shopping cart.

Hey Blastservices,
On the valve cover, I never tried to pull those plastic inserts out where the posts come through the top...did they come out easily and/or did you get new ones? I haven't looked to see if new inserts are even available. When I was cleaning up my VC on my 1F, I decided not to attempt to extract them for fear they would disintegrate.
Thanks,
-MudDauber

The valve cover gasket kit from Spector included the rubber post seals w/built in washer. They may be plastic at this point on yours due to age and petroleum exposure.

Thanks for the comments guys! This is just a busy project for me after hours and here and there when I have time. It’s suppose to be fun so I’m trying to keep it that way. I will admit I didn’t plan on getting this deep into it but after all I’m trying to eventually dump it in NC for a vehicle to drive and no tools or no accommodations there will make it tough.
