Sulfer Yellow

Any word on this?? I am very interested in that color.

I'm going for a Spring Green on my FJ40. It's the original colour I found, deep below the bog and rust! If anyone is interested the original Spring Green colour code is T 1028. Sulfur yellow is also nice!

The moment has arrived!!!

OK Folks, my seemingly endless quest to get some sulfur yellow on my 64 FST has finally come to completion!!!! I had lots of rust to conquer and a busy body shop to intrude upon. I had to mix up multiple test batches of paint and boy am I happy with the results.

as a recap, THIS is what I wanted. Old school, cool and rare:

Here is what I ended up with. These pics were shot at 8AM this morning, so some in sun and some in shade to give you an idea of what it looks like. May look different in full sun. The name makes sense, and there is a bit of avacado in it. I affectionately refer to it as "baby s*** green" when not calling it sulfur yellow.

A few notes. I need to add a few holes for the rear tailgate and spare tire rack hardware, that was intentional. Also, this afternoon or tomorrow morning they will paint the firewall black. Wanted to wait a few days prior to masking it.

:)

NOOOOOOO! That's a great color. Leave the firewall the same color!

Splangy, I thought theo old cruisers came with a black firewall and underside of hood? Am I wrong??!!?!

Chris

WHAT DO I DO WITH MY FIREWALL FOLKS????? Leaning towards painting like original, but need to decide now as I must bring this home tomorrow ;-)

thanks splangy...argh...

Yes, I have original wheels and some kick butt skinny tires. Also ordered some of Mike's repro OG hubcaps. Have my soft top coming together as well. Intent is original as feasible with better brakes.

Will post pics tomorrow of the courtship and mating to the chassis I hope!

I painted the inside of my hook and and firewall etc black, and the lower part of the fenders.
I did it because that is how it was originally on my truck. ( I think at least )

some peeps like the color too, they both look nice i think.

Kinda your choice, what ever suits you. :D

Now I am trying to jam everything back together. I still do not have a set of seats tho, still looking for some original seats...

That is looking soooo good...really glad you did the period correct black

Those Yokos look absolutely cool, but I wish you would have done the rims black, as they would have been black on your '64.

Don't get me wrong, I am not criticizing at all...I as really love what you have done so far, and you have obviously been reading a few threads to what to did...I just felt I should mention it.

Again...really really nicely done...this is going to be in my top 10 40s, if not top 5 favorites. Can't wait to see it completed :cheers::cheers:
